If Shoop's Vol defense can play as anticipated, what's a good name for Shoop's team 120 defense?

Wrecking Crew?

Orange Crush?

Ideas?

They're a Shoop-load!

Shoops Ahoy!

They Shoop the Sheriff (but they did not Shoop the Deputy).

No Shoop, there they were!

All I know is when I saw the ole miss defense calling themselves "land sharks" I thought it was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen. Spent half their game laughing at them. So I'll pass on pre-ordained nicknames. At least see them in action first.

Ain't played a down yet... could be "3rd and Schoop" for all we know. Give it time and let him excite us.

The thread title brought a song to mind, only because it has the lyric "shoop" repeated: John Lennon's "Come Together" from the Abbey Road album. (I ain't goin' anywhere near Salt-N-Pepa's "Shoop")

The first line of "Come Together" is an obvious reference to Coach Butch Jones: "Here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly." It's one of the few songs of the era that even mentions the sport: "He got toe jam football." So I mined the rest of the lyrics for inspiration...

"Joo-Joo Eyeball Defense"
"Monkey Finger D"
"Spinal Crackers"
"Walrus Gumboots"

Well, maybe this wasn't as inspiring as I thought...

Now it would be cool if anytime the opposing offense called a timeout, the band playing that little bridge between the refrains in "Come Together," and 50,000 people sang, "Shhhooooop!"

(I know--in the original overdubs, Lennon was singing "Shoootme")

In a stadium, I think it would create an ominous sound for an offense that had to call a timeout before facing whatever Shoop has dialed up next for them.

(Plus, even our most-liquoredup fans could remember the words, well into the fourth quarter.)
