I am looking for some testers for the new volnation mobile skin. I haven't tweaked the colors or anything yet but I'm looking for some people to test the functionality on different phones, blackberry's and pda's. You should automatically get the mobile skin when you log on with your device, but you will know it for sure by all the bright background colors used. That and it will look nothing like the current board. That said, it should be a very functional way for people to read and post from their phone or mobile device.

I'm looking for feedback on anything that affects usability. (ie everything except the ugly colors)

Could you on the old mobile skin?

The old system looked exactly the same as the regular board, except the Politics forum.

See, I had a mobile version that would load on my blackberry but my phone would try to load the full version and it would take forever and the formatting would be messed up. Did the full version work for you? Did it not take forever to download? What device are you using, still the blackjack?

Still using the Blackjack. I never noticed any load speed problems with the old system.

Yes. I never noticed any difference in the regular board and the old mobile system.

I use a palm treo and it looks good...I just can't choose my normal blue color...or any of the bold functions..pictures...smilies..etc.

you are seeing the normal version nc and not the stripped down text version on your treo? if that is the case i need to make it an option to choose the mobile skin.

Im on Verizon with there mobile web 2.0 on a non-PDA phone and i am still getting the regular site and not text only

On a Blackjack using AT&T wireless, and it's MUCH faster than before. This might actually be usable.

The only thing I don't see is the equivalent of the little orange button that takes me right to the first post in a thread I haven't read. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to do it, though.

I'm with Sprint and have an older Sanyo phone. I don't remember the model number, but it was the first Sanyo with multi-media capability. Jack Bouer used it one season on "24" if that helps. The front page was just like the web's. It didn't load all the way because my browser ran out of memory. Once I logged in and went to the board it was the stripped down version. The images were links, but none of the ones I tried worked.

Hm.. It appears that some are getting the actual board and some are getting the mobile version. That is what I need to work on.

The forum mobile version "should" look like this for everyone.

Once i get to the boards things are fine now but i am having a problem signing in. When i go to enter my pass word it's all in lower case but on my phone the first letter it always tries to capitalize it....guess ill have to figure out something on my phone.

two solutions.

start with a random captial letter and then go back and delete it before you submit.

OR on my phone if i press the letter and hold it down for a couple of seconds it will cycle through to lowercase.
