New Michigan HC is Sherrone Moore.

He deserves a shot and truthfully can you imagine the impact on social media & with recruiting if they hired a white coach, yikes.

Although I am surprised his base salary starts at under $1 million per year at a major program.

So is he the the lowest paid coach in the country?

I admit somebody needs to “do something” but that was an awful lot of somthing.

I must be out of the loop but what does race have to do with Michigan's HC spot?

Those contract terms are weird.

He gets $500K salary and a $5 million payment in year one. Plus another $500K bonus if he finishes the year.

The other 4 years he is getting a million if he finishes the season and $500k if he doesn't

Buyout is $5 million and drops each year by a million.

Anybody else think this contract is basically set up for him to get canned after year 2 and Michigan presumably takes care of the NCAA issues.

I'm sure Moore wanted his shot, but this seems like a contract set up to be able to fire you pretty quickly and cheaply.

It’s a prestigious job and he’s a relative no name. This is a classic make-good hire. He kills it and they tear this up to retain him. He doesn’t? He got a helluva opportunity!

This is why I didn't spend much time thinking about anyone to poach off Michigan's roster, they aren't likely to lose anyone now who wasn't moving on anyway.

First, I'm no Michigan fan.
Is it they know their gonna get the hammer so they went cheap and using Moore as a scape goat? Hmmmm....
All be it a cheap and easy hire he's still getting a handsome salary! Set!.....More than I'll ever see! Hell, I'd take it ha.

Have you been living under a rock for the past 10 years?

All the discussion about African-American coaches, not getting a fair shot in college and the NFL.

If they had bypassed him the social justice warriors would be protesting Michigan.

I’m not arguing that he wasn’t the best candidate. I think he’s their best option and certainly qualified.

I was merely pointing out the consequences of what would’ve happened had they gone a different direction in the current socio-political environment.

The point being is why did the poster even have to bring in the "proverbial" race card. No "snowflakes " to offend here hopefully....

If nothing else, it shows how much he wanted it. I'm surprised at the details of that contract. Would they offer a white coach with the same experience as Moore that same contract? I doubt it. Maybe Michigan needed to find a way to save some money after paying Harbaugh. Gonna be interesting couple of years watching how this turns out.

What “same experience” are you referencing?
