So would I have to have Netflix to watch a movie in a movie party if one of my friends was watching a movie?

If you've got Live, you've gotta have Netflix. It's totally worth $8/month simply for the streaming movies.

I couldn't find enough to watch after the first day. Perhaps the selection is better now than 6 months ago, but I wouldn't have paid a dollar to have the service then.

However, I'm not the type to watch movies over and over. I'm not one to watch old movies just because I can. And I completely don't understand why you want to try and get friends online together to watch a movie together. Just fire it up and watch the dang thing whenever you want. Plus, if I'm watching a movie at home, I like to use the pause button for the restroom/phone calls/dinner break/etc.

I guess there's people that will use it....

They update the list of Instant Movies almost daily - I still haven't run out flicks. The best part is getting the complete seasons of tv shows like South Park, The office, and myth busters.
