Hadn’t seen this on here so........

With Sports Talk starting late from the OT victory...Hyams and Ferrara were discussing Currie on live tv in the Bahamas....not on a plane for the rumor mill sitings....or not searching as we speak for a hire. Hyams said a prominent booster told him the new HC will be in place by this time (yesterday) as we speak. He said the booster wouldn’t name who but the hire should be done....praying it to finally be finished so all the insane rumors will be over.

:dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Yes, I would expect an announcement early next week. Makes sense.

To announce prior to Vandy game would be a huge distraction.

Jimmy Hyams just told the world that we would never be able to hire anyone and that Currie hadn't even started interviewing people yet we're supposed to have someone in place next week.

Make your feeble mind up, Jimmy.

Jimmy is in the dark and has nothing to offer in the way of news.

And yet this is an insane rumor ;)

I think the most likely timing is about 2 weeks from now. Regular season is over after this week, but some of the coaches that we'd be looking at are playing in conference championship games. If it does happen next week, then that means it's probably Dan Mullen.

Makes sense if current coach whose season wraps this weekend, minus a bowl game (like Mullen). If next week is indeed the timeline then doesn't that rule out any coach playing in a conference championship like Norvell or Patterson?

Report: Tennessee not ruling out Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano

Article sites a source saying if Currie's main guys fell through its Schiano.

I would guess Kelly & Gruden would be the main guys they are referring to?

An earlier article said he would look at Mullen, but then numours articles about how Schiano has been flying up that list.

Me
Personally I don't understand how it isn't Les Miles at Tennessee

If Tennessee hires Schiano, I am done with Tennessee sports.

Do yourself a favor and look up his tenure at Penn State and tell me you want that representing our school.

Actually buddy you need to look that up.
He has denied it and that's Currie's job to judge what he thinks based on his, his family's, and other coaches stories.

If they do and your gone.... we will see you back when the wins roll in.

Of course he has.

And I have absolutely no reason to believe anyone at Penn State did not know that the rape of children was going on considering how long Sandusky was at that school and how long he was preying on victims.

Quit praying on children to sling mud on an issue that you know nothing personally about. Classless

Let people do their jobs and figure that out. Not just one person telling you the gospel. You might want to read the whole account too.

Not just sling mud and use children as a heart stings pull statement

You're the only person I've seen on this board relentlessly defending Schiano.

As if the scandal wasn't enough, he's an average at best coach with success in a conference so terrible it collapsed because the two good teams wanted out.

Dude you have issues.

I don't know what happened, Schiano has denied there are questions regarding the statement made against him. Ohio state hired him after this statement. They cleared his side. Just saying you don't know what or what didn't happen to Schiano personally.

Even if the testimony is true.recounts from 20+ years before. We didn't know if he went and told someone? That's been sealed and questions I'm sure that were brought up by Ohio state. And they hired him

Also Currie wouldn't have him as a top
Candidate right now without vetting someone

I'd appreciate it if you left the personal attacks out and instead justified why he's even worth a discussion.

I have no faith that Schiano can beat ANY of the best coaches in this league- Smart, Saban, potentially Chip Kelly- and combined with the fact that it's very possible he knew of the abuse at Penn State, he's absolutely not worth hiring as a head coach. Not in any world.

Not really. After listening to JJs rant about the coaching, it could easily energize the whole team.

Sorry but that pisses me off when people use kids as leverage in an argument. Especially these kids.

He turned around Rutgers got them to top 10
Tough hard nose coach, great recruiting

Les is a good coach, but he's too old. As are a few others.

We DO NOT need a guy to come in, do a respectable job for 4 or 5 years then have to retire for medical reasons.

Please provide any proof of Les having any health issues. I’m very anti Les but i would love to know your insider take of his health records.

Fact: it was testified, under oath, that Schiano knew about the abuse at Penn State.

Fact: Schiano coached in a conference that was as bad or worse than the mid-major conferences while at Rutgers.

My opinion is that there's no way he didn't know what was going on at PSU and that he is an average at best coach that will not be able to beat the best of this league.

Les Miles is past his prime. No confidence in him at all. Think our offense sucks now
