All you guitar players, I just picked up an inexpensive amp that's pretty damn fun.

It's a VOX AD30VT. It's a hybrid (has a tube and solidstate section) with 11 amp models and several effects.

The amp models are fun an include a couple classic VOX, Fender, Marshall and one Mesa Boogie (among others).

The clean tone isn't that great but the gain tones are pretty good.

My favorite feature is "wattage" adjustment. You can run it from 30 watts down to 1.5 watts. As a result, you can dial in the sound you want (e.g. crank gains and volumes) but play it either quiet or loud.

Goes for about $230 and is plenty of fun for a practice/home amp.

Modelers have come a long way, for sure. Line6 still seems to have the edge on heavier tones, but I've really enjoyed the few Vox amps I've played through.

One of these days I'm gonna break down and get me a classic Marshall.
