Idk if any of you guys were fans of the original Ghost Hunters but there are 2 new shows with a few of the original dudes. One of which is Ghost Hunters on A&E and the other, Ghost Nation, on the travel channel.

My first impression was that I would like Ghost Nation because it had Jason, Steve and Tango. The other with Grant and his new team. But after watching both, I think I'm a bigger fan of Ghost Hunters. It seems to me that Ghost Nation is more production and fake like than the new Ghost Hunters. They seem to debunk and put facts above all.

That toy car that moves in the first episode of ghost nation is obviously remote controlled. It has an antenna on the back of it.

Yes, did you watch the episode that's the whole point of them spending half the episode trying to debunk it even getting their own RC car to see if it would work with a different remote.

I've been a fan of Paranormal shows for years thanks to Ghost Hunters.

GN was the first episode but it seemed like old times with those three. I really like Grant's new team the redhead Kristen Lumen was on several GH eps back in the day as well as a show called Ghost Mine.

It's great to have two more shows along with Amy & Adams show Kindred Spirits to have normal investigation's where it's not always portals, demons and posessions like that Ghost Adventures which I occasionally do watch.

Yeah, they went from calling it a toy car to later acknowledging it being an rc car. I thought they were tryin to pull one over on us. The episode was better as it went on.

I have not watched Ghost Nation but I wondered why there were two shows and the two original ghost hunters(Jason/Grant) split up and did their own shows. After reading this thread I may have learned the answer. Clearly Grant didn't want to go with fake outs and parlor tricks.

I don't know if many watched the series they had where they were looking for the next Ghost Hunter(Ghost Hunters Academy), but that's the show where you first meet Adam. I truly thought the kid was cocky and arrogant and was never a fan.

Not sure where you get that?

Grant was busted on the old show for faking a ghost. He’s probably trying to regain some credibility. He claimed to leave the old show because of his religious beliefs. I think he couldn’t stand getting bosses around by Jason when they were supposed to be on equal standing.

I've watch both shows and Ghost Hunters is better. But I only watch them now for the entertainment value. I find both shows pretty high on the BS meter.

But Ghost Nation disappointed me. The "ghost re-enactments" were cheesy and terrible, and they repeated the same things about 5 times after each commercial break. And to be honest the family kind of felt like they were embelishing their story a bit. Like maybe a few weird things happened but they piled on to make it seem worse. Jason really disappoints me, in the early days of Ghost Hunters he was extremely skeptical about everything; now he seems to just swallow everything as "evidence" It's really sad to see how pandering he's become.

Ghost Hunters is better but still has some of the same problems. Grant actually seems a bit more skeptical than he used to be but that might just be in comparison to the people on his team now. None of them seem particulary skeptical at all. The funniest moment so far was the school episode where the one guy talked to an electrician about why the lights went out. The electrician gave a 100% rational explanation for it and acted like it wasn't a big deal, and the ghost guy says basically "Yeah...but a ghost could have done it right?" and the electrician gives him a "WTF" look and says "uhh...yeah?"

I mean when you get down to it, both (and other shows) are over-produced pseudo-science drama but I do find the locations interesting.

Lol, I defintely wouldn't agree with that. They may be better than Ghost Nation (at the moment) but they spin a lot of BS too.

I've read around and seems like Grant had a lot of marriage problems because of the old show. He was never home and that caused some issues. Also there was a rift when Jason wanted his daughter on the team, I don't think Grant liked that. I don't think they follow each other's social media accounts anymore and Grant is no longer associated with TAPS so my guess is they had a pretty significant fallout.

Jason's new show used the remote control car.

I think some of you need to watch the episode a little closer. The original (RC) car was the same car the family (said would move on its on and the family said the remote had been lost.) and the paranormal team (East Tennessee Paranormal Project) filmed it moving during their investigation. That video was shown during the episode. The same car then moved on film during the Ghost Hunters investigation. To try and debunk it they then brought in a new (RC) car to see if it would move with the remote from it but it didn't. They also tried the with there walkies, etc... still nothing.

Grant was busted on the old show for faking a ghost.
What?

I can't believe it was way back in 2012 when he left.

The live Halloween episode is the biggest example of Grant faking. He claimed a ghost grabbed his coat collar and it looked like his collar went down. Then people on the internet showed how you could do it with a rigged pulley type thing from your pocket. And both times Grant put his hands in his pocket before it happened. They also refused to talk about it after the backlash.

There were other things like cameras catching “ghosts” on infrared and it clearly a person on their crew.
