I am doing some final tweaking testing for a new VolNation forum skin. You can check it out by selecting volnation vbseo from the skin drop-down in the bottom left of the page. Feedback is appreciated.

So far I like it. The scores and the schedule on the right in the board home is cool. I have yet to play around with it too much but the background and the checkerboards are awesome. :good!:

Yeah, the scores thing was GAVol's idea. I thought it was a nice touch just to have it on the main forum home page.

The header bar is not a very effective use of the space, although I like where you are trying to go. Maybe if you carried the checkerboard look of the 'thinbar' into the header...

Also, you've de-emphasized your best logo element ( the circle/triangle icon) in favor of the block VN. Purely subjective, but I think you're hiding your very best look in the background...

I use a smaller window all the time, so the widescreen throws my eye off, but I can adjust to that...

Anything with a scroll-thru menu on the right side tends to mess me up when I'm scrolling thru the larger forum page.

Keep after it, I could learn to like it....

One of the biggest differences is that the username and avatar is above the post instead of beside it. I have not fully decided which route I will go, maybe I'll have an option for both.

Yea, i like it, but i kinda liked the avatar and stuff on the side. But hey, its not my site. Thanks for all you do freak

Yeah, the triangle logo just has to be fairly large to look right. I know what you are saying though. I'll have to think about that.

Do you mean the overall width of the page is larger?

I may go back to that. At the very least, I'll have an option to keep it that way.

Well, there is so much white, and the right hand side seems empty(at the top). I love the new orange background with the checkerboards overlaid. Using that look in place of the white at the top would bring some weight to the header.

As for the spacing problem with the circ/tri icon, if you keep your sizing, let it be full(not dissolved into the background), and then drag it up and to the right...so that the upper right portion of the logo is off the screen to the corner... this might fix your spacing problem and be a really cool look at the same time...

I'm finding this hard to explain with just words, hope you see what I'm getting at....

Question. Can you only get to your PM by the User CP or the page with all the forums? On the old skin, you could access it all the time.

Yes. You can click on the user cop on every page or you have the direct link on the main forum page.

I do like the above option as opposed to the side option.

Love the checkerboards, but not too crazy about the name/avatar being above instead of beside. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to get used to, though.

Vol Mania, there is a dropdown box in the bottom left hand corner of every page where you can change the skin.
