Saw it on the new football time and Bennie Wylie talks about how big it will be and that it will be the best new state-of-the-art work out facility in the country and it will be bigger then our current 22,000 feet facility. It will be complete in June of 2011.

Best Workout Facility in the country. GO VOLS!!!

Read that and thought it was interesting. I also liked what Wylie had to say.

The current weight room and training room will be renovated and upgraded for the Lady Vols, who are being displaced by the closure of Stokely. When its all said and done, both programs will have premier facilities. The women may actually have a better weight and training room facilities than a good portion of D1 schools in the country.

the current facility is beat. I was in there last year and was shocked at how worn it is.

You keep saying this in threads, but I don't get it. Where exactly were you?

"Worn" and "Beat" are not words that I would use to describe it, especially compared to the other facilities I've been in.

In another thread you mentioned that the one at Ole Miss was better, but what others have to been inside? I've seen most of the SEC buildings (only five other schools have indoor fields at all) and several in the ACC. I saw the one Michigan just spent millions on a few weeks ago and it's not markedly better than what you seem to be embarrassed by.

Recruits are still impressed by ours and the players get better by using it, so that's all that really matters. We're already upgrading, when we're already ahead.

The indoor field blows. The only plus to it is that, in the rain, it's not wet. During the summer, it's as hot, if not hotter, than outdoors.

That's fine with me. We don't need them practicing in the AC just so they can die when they step outside in early September.

It's a utilitarian facility. There's no need for flat panel TVs and a fancy interior. The turf is good, and there's plenty of room. No need for more than that.

You know, as well as I do, that that place blows. I'd just blow it up and drop in another parking lot. God knows we need that more

It isn't anything fancy, but it serves its purpose. A place to train out of the elements. It's hot, but no sun and no rain.

I'm not sure how you can improve on a warehouse with a field in it.
