New ESPN Rumor on Bryce Brown

A Knoxville radio station apparently reported (courtesy this tweet from ESPN Recruiting's Justin Hopkins) on Wednesday afternoon that RB Bryce Brown will be in Knoxville on Thursday to meet with the Tennessee staff. Reportedly, neither Brown nor his brother, Arthur, are terribly thrilled with the idea of transferring to Kansas State, their long-rumored destination. However, their father supposedly does want them closer to home and, in this case, is not in favor of Bryce's returning to the Vols.

Jimmy Hyams of The Sports Animal in Knoxville has also reported that Arthur Brown may prefer to return to Miami -- if he's welcome there -- rather than entering K-State by himself. (He's still enrolled in a juco and has not signed up for classes in Manhattan.)

Could this get any juicier? There were reports in May of a possible package deal for the brothers at Tennessee; given the continued low numbers for Derek Dooley, is this something that might still be on the table?

He is coming back to ask for an unconditional release so the 2 of them can both play or UM.... either that or his dad is going to ask for a raise to let his son stay here..

What has Brown done to create drama? All he did was leave. It's not like he pulled a CJ Boleman and whined to his local newspaper about how mistreated he was at UT.

pops should have considered the distance before Bryce signed with UT to begin with if he's going to be in control of the decision.

makes you wonder what kind of promises Lane made behind the scenes

If he's coming tomorrow, it certainly won't be to meet with Dooley since he's at Media Days. If anything it would be the assistants.

I'm not saying it had to be anything forbidden by the NCAA. We know Todd Campbell was whining about his jersey number so little things like that and we all heard the rumor about the Heisman campaign for this coming year. I wouldn't put it past them to push or exceed the limits either though.

I'll never understand the wannabe moderators on here that make a scene about merging, etc... is it really that big of an inconvenience to have a new thread when there is new information out. I wouldn't have seen this had it been in the other thread.

Thank you for the update, volsfan2918.

...I do, however, fully understand the people that like to correct spelling and grammar. I am one of them.

Yeah, he committed a secondary violation by saying his name on the radio one time. Real hoodlum that Kiffin is, I tell ya.

Had nothing to do with Kiffin, I would say the same about any successful staff, they all push the limits. It's sad how you defend the guy even when no one took a shot at him. Go join weareusc. Who made it your job to defend all things Kiffin and why do you give such a crap if someone does say something about the guy? I could careless at this point if he is very successful or not, and I expect him to be very successful there, I have moved on but could care less what someone else post about him here either.

I'll take Brown back in a minute but he really didn't do much to impress me last year. In my opinion, he runs too straight up which leaves him wide open to take wicked hits and prevents him from getting that extra yard or two by lowering his shoulder. If he stays fine and if he leaves fine. Either way, i don't see this program being better or worse.

Man, he just let Bryce sign with Tennessee so Kiffin would calm down, Orgeron would stop yelling in his ear and ripping his shirt off....
