New DL Coach

I was told the situation is very fluid right now and whether one or both of Harbin & Inge are out heavily depends on who says yes to Knowles over next 24 hours or so. He even mentioned that there has at least been discussion of the possibility of RG's role changing depending on who comes in and what Coach Garner prefers to do

Who takes LBs?
Jackson may coach LBs, edge rushers, or LBs. Does Knowles ask Garner to coach somewhere else on staff and Jackson take over d line? There are a few way the can go on this. Or, does Jackson coach the safeties or corners?

Most DCs gained experience coaching all three layers of the defense before becoming a coordinator - same with offense.

I’m sure we will know all the position coaches by Friday - Monday since portal opens tomorrow.

The new coach is known for coaching front 7 so that may be LBs, Edge rushers, or helping Rodney in some capacity. Or, does Garner coach somewhere else on staff and the new guy take over d line? There are a few way the can go on this.

So 3 DL coaches and the dc takes LBs? That seems wild

Or could he be joining as an analyst. He wasn’t a on field assistant at Penn state in 25, but he was at West Virginia
Here’s his resume:
2025: defensive analyst/assistant d line coach, Penn State
2021-24: D line coach at West Virginia
2020: D Line coach at Old Dominion
2019: D Tackle coach at James Madison
2018: Defensive quality control coach at Mississippi State
2017: D Line coach at Fordham
2015-16: Grad assistant at Penn State

Those who said Heup wouldn’t make changes ….

Banks fired
Strength and conditioning coach - gone
Looks like Chop or Inge will be let go
Martinez- gone

Knowles is known for having a physical defense w/ speed. A must in SEC play.

Offense - the jury is out for me regarding O line coach.

Special teams- took a huge step back, punt returns included.
Elarbee should have been fired 2 years ago

Now, if we only had Crockett and Houston we'd be ready for anyone. Especially Texas!!!
I dunno. Lookin' at how that '36 season ended in the Alamo Bowl...

And A.Jackson's Trail of Tears destroyed what should have been the richest recruiting area in the country, and could have been a model for Red/White relations from the Smokeys to the Seattle.

I had ancesters who died in both. Lots of "Remember the _____s" in our history, and like everyone else, lots to forgive.
