New details about Curries contract

Insubordination. Acting with out permission to go talk to Leach and on someone elses plane to boot.

If true .. too many rumors and things that don't add up to know what is true and what isn't. Twitter was full of mis-truths during the coaching search.

And then we have the statement from Davenport that he was given full control of the search which implies he was free to make the decisions.

Additionally one instance of insubordination, unless really severe, doesn't normally hold up for firing - typically there has to be a pattern (e.g. more than one).

With state labor laws it is not as easy to fire as some folks think, especially at top positions in an organization.

People just don't get it.

I hope Pruitt does well and if he does it will me we got lucky. Because there is nothing done well at UT in the grand scheme.

That place has been a hot mess for 10 years or more.

Can you imagine a worse list of flunkies.

Gilley
Davenport
Cheek
Hamilton
Hart
Currie
Dooley
Jones

And I am forgetting some.

You forgot "holding on to Fulmer" too long. And it is very possible that hiring him as AD may eventually be added to the list.

And you forgot hiring Kiffin, who abruptly left.

Agree. And I’d love to see Davenport fired and kicking rocks with Currie....she’s the one who officially hired him.

And she’s the one who removed him...spiting Haslam’s orders. And refused to institute Sigmonn...spiting Haslam’s orders. And she’s the one who backed Fulmer...sensing the theme? This firing azzes thing is getting quite expensive! How about we skimp on the ones who step up and do the right thing...when it COUNTS?

I backed Currie’s hire, especially over Fulmer. Thought it would be a lot of learning the job on the go. I was wrong. Currie ran a shizz show during the search and had ONE candidate. There was no plan B. Racked up a lot of private plane miles for no result. Fulmer identified candidates, interviewed and hired in efficient time. Salvaged a recruiting class I had assumed dead. I say save the difference and park Currie (George Costanza style). Let the real people handle football.

I'm a retired manufacturing manager. Have fired many for insubordination and made it stick in court. You are misguided.

The buyout for Brett Bielema is covered by "The Razorback Foundation, a nonprofit funded by boosters and supporters of UA athletics." according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “(It is) responsible for the final agreement with Bielema and for paying his severance,” not the university.

So if true that boosters here, most often bundled under the name Haslam, are pulling all the strings at UT, why do they not also foot the buyout bills, or do they? I think I have heard that they do. Those who know more than I please share.

Make him report to work every day and sit in a room, twiddling his thumbs. He gets his salary, rather than the buy out and he may get so bored he leaves voluntarily.

I agree Fulmer could prove to be a disaster at AD. It was a desperation, back against the wall, save my own a** hire by Davenport. That is never the best spot to be hiring from.

I left Kiffin off on purpose. My list was about people incompetent at their job. I believe he is a good coach, an unlikely scenario just played out.

If she was going the “save my own azz” route, bucking the guy that essentially hired her was an odd direction. This little lady stood up.

You are lost if you don't think that was a save my a@@ move.

The town wasn't far from being outside her office with pitchforks. She is an incompetent buffoon that licked her finger and stuck it up in the air and chose self preservation. A move even the dumbest animals are able to make.

If she wanted to be spiteful, then Davenport should change his work location to an office at UT Martin. He'd at least be out of site there until he is formally fired.

He is just a Butch backer, and also has been very pro Currie, his opinion is slanted because UT fired his savior lyle.

And UT suspended him - so the burden in on UT to prove the reason for the suspension violates what they owe him. And based on what was reported he was doing his job looking for a HC at the time he was suspended.

well other than the whole using another schools/persons plane, with your boss not knowing where you are while working....

I know exactly where I’m coming from. She bucked Tennessee’s biggest power player. You making it out to be anything but super ballsy means you’re just blinded with self-deluded hate.

Yes, but the hiring if Currie is still on her. Plus, they'd have to show that Currie didn't have the authority to interview and hire candidates. It's kind of hard to blame a guy for doing his job.

What we don't completely know is who nixed the Schiano hiring. Did Bev or Currie?

There is literally over $10 million in potential liability over this fiasco. Hard to believe that someone won't lose their job over that.

She allowed the AD to do his job...until he botched it to the point of her having to step in. If you try to fire her for that, you can add some more millions to the pile in the lawsuit she has grounds for.

You are a combo of delusional and idiotic, the likes of which has never been seen on here, to believe that she was "super ballsy."

It would be like calling jumping out of a 5th floor window of a building on fire "super ballsy." No. It is the desire to survive.

Call it like I see it.

And ballsy doesn't enter the picture. She was clueless and ignorant as hell from the start. With a mob approaching, she jumped to the first lifeboat that appeared.

I disagree with you and completely dismiss your theory. Just facts. :) Good symbolism with the boats and fires and mobs thing tho.

Might be a stretch to say that VN has never witnessed delusional and idiotic. JMO.
