What kind of stupid is this?

So the way they structured his deal 9 months ago, Currie gets a 25k per month raise when he gets fired.

That's brilliant.

I'd have to see it to believe it...there's no way the administration inked that deal...I mean, if they did, might go down as worst AD agreement in college athletics history.

He should never been hired as an AD. He is best suited to sack groceries at Kroger.

Lol.

Some goober arguing on here with me the other day referenced well run organizations in defending his argument of the happenings over at UT.

I give you exhibit 1,437.

The UT AD has not been well run since Dickey left.

That's not new news. Nobody wanted to talk about it when the details were announced. It was beyond dumb and reeked of the Haslam family.

I was shouted down for bringing it up when it happened. Grinded my gears.

At some point, someone, somewhere has a moral and ethical obligation to look at how things are done here, and say "Uh WTF are you people doing?" I mean it's like if the goal is to not catch the building on fire, some idiot would want to store massive amounts of gas in the closet of said building.....and there would be 5-6 more people in positions of authority who would think it's a damn fine idea.

If you do good we'll pay you $75k/mo
If you FUBAR, we'll pay you $100K/mo

Water must be contaminated because responsible, educated people just aren't this ignorant.

We have educated, but not intelligent, people in charge.

Been that way for a decade plus. Davenport is another fine example.

The failed football program for the past decade is just another symptom of a university led by buffoons.

Valid Point. See Exhibit A here

Exactly, not like he was the 'Saban' or 'Coach K' of AD's out there, and that you would agree to such of a bass- ackwards buffoon-headed contract with that dude...Come on man!

It does make one seriously wonder about who is reviewing these contracts before they are signed. Absurd that a contract would effectively give an employee a raise for being terminated.

Employees write the contracts, and seal them. Informs the Administration that they must sign off on it before they read it. A common practice elsewhere too.

If I ever need a lawyer, I promise I won't retain one that went to UT.
