Is it me or over the last two or three games has our D played with a nastier attitude than in previous years? I mean we hit LSU hard and there were some massive hits on Wisconsin today. With Berry and Mayo leading the way this D seems to be carrying more of a 'catch it' or 'run it' on us and you will pay attitude. I love it!

There really does seem to have been an obvious increase in the intensity and heart of our defense over the last few games.

still too loose in the secondary. Good pressure early in passing plays. I'd like to see us play a little better man to man. Maybe when our CB's come out of diapers they will perform. I know they are still young.

The defense won us this game.. They also did everything they could to win the game against LSU for us.. As much as I was down on them a few weeks ago, I take my hat off to them for the way they played the last two games.. Hopefully it's a springboard for next season

It isn't so much an argument of how good they are...it has just been their intensity and how hard they have been hitting. This usually leads to better results - but doesn't necessarily fix holes in the secondary.

I agree. They still have some holes to fill and give up too many big plays, but man they have been making opponents pay after they catch it or run it. Gotta start somewhere and it might as well start with intensity, attitude and tackling/hitting.

IMO Chavis has trouble defending teams who use the option or a lot of spread formations. Pro-set offenses they seem to play well against.

They did well holding Wisconsin to less then 20 pts.

Yeah, but... when push comes to shove, our defense has held it's own. The last several games our lack of intensity or whatever it is on the offensive side, has cost us and nearly did again today. The D has come up big when it had to.

He better be able to defend it next year, considering we play Florida and Auburn in back to back games or we will be staring at 2 early season losses next year.

has Slade stepped down yet? I mean the season has been over for an hour or so.

I thought we had decent pressure, but Hill ran down our throats today.

I didn't think he "ran it down our throats." He had one big run, but otherwise he was held in check pretty well.

The D is very physical but glad Wisc didn't run more than they did. I think they had the edge running the ball.

I was thrilled with our defense the last 2 games. I see a lot of great hits and swagger without the woofing. Berry and Mayos hits yesterday reminded me of the Al Wilson days. I agree we need to play closer to WRs by our DBs...that and special team d needs working on, but overall I was pleased with how the D improved. GO VOLS
