This helps fill a serious NEED at the TE position.
We're about 2 or 3 short at the TE position so his 2 years playing time helps provide a stopgap to give any new incoming freshman TE the time to bulk up and learn the system to be ready for a starting position by their Soph or Junior years.
Step 1 in recruiting...Fill the serious NEEDS on the team and then go after the higher ranked kids in the future.
We have to start somewhere and NOT having the NEEDS filled at every position is a 100% certain way to guarantee continued failure for many more years to come.
Woody could turn into a pass catching beast that will make us forget about Jason Witten so support him and our coaches and stop all the negative, childish garbage.
