yes he did. I was only concerning coaching standpoints. AD's fall under a completely different category in my book. Dickey's previous coaching career was at Arkansas if i'm not mistaken (b4 ark was SEC)

Dickey was an assistant coach under Frank Broyles at Arkansas went to Tennessee in 1964 then later went to his alma mater Florida where he replaced an ex-UT player, Ray Graves.

I don't necssarily buy the concept that you don't hire a coach from a rival SEC team. Look at Georgia, they had an ex-Auburn player (Vince Dooley) as coach while Auburn had an ex-Bulldog (Pat Dye) as their coach.

Muschamp might become an excellant head coach. Many will say that UT is such a big name program that they would require an established head coach to replace Fulmer. I say look at Bob Stoops at OU where an assistant went to a big name school with obvious sucess. (I'm not saying that Muschamp is another Stoops).

i thought we had pretty well covered Dickey's life, but thanks. I agree with you that I don't think what they have done with previous SEC teams really matters and that was the point of my original post. I've not put much thought into Muschamp, but his resume looks pretty solid.

but think about it. If he can get that kind of guy, a person some wanted at UT, to come to the Bearcats, imagine what he can get at UT.
This was a great pickup for Kelly and Cincy. This article says that Jones was recruited by Kelly when he was at Central Michigan, and Jones came to Kelly with interest in Cincy, rather than the other way around.

It still remains to be seen if he can keep Cincy on the rise, continue bringing in better talent, and develop his players skills, but his future looks promising.

Hopefully IF we hire a new coach our administration is smarter than baseing the hire on ONE good game or season.

Best offensive coach around IMO. He has done an incredible job with the Titans taking what is a marginally talented offense and making them very good. He has won national titles while at USC and BYU. I think he would be at the top of my list.

I was watchin that guy Saturday night and kinda thought the same thing. I think when UT is ready for a new HC they need someone young and energetic who can relate to the players and Muschamp is definately that. Also, with talent being so widespread and offenses becoming so efficient I believe that a really stout defense is the key to fielding championship teams and a defensive minded HC may be the way to go.
