Kinda sad this used to be something I really kept up with. Even artists I like I miss new albums for months… sometimes years.

A Light for Attracting Attention is very good, I've listened to it 4 or 5 times already. So out of the loop I didn't know Andrew Bird, Wilco, and Black Keys released new stuff, so thank you for posting.

Let’s run down to Cats and get a co… what? Album releases are actually a thing anymore since Spotify?

Will have to check it out. The Smile sounds vaguely familiar, but don't know them.

I've really been digging this Regina Spektor album and I've really never listened to her before, just heard of her.

Side project (or maybe permanent project?) of Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead. I've heard that name a thousand times but haven't listened to her yet. Will have to make the time.

Yes it took 2 seconds of listening to remember we heard their song on Sirius because we were like wow this guy sounds a lot like Thom Yorke before we googled them. Also pretty cool it has the Sons of Kemet's drummer. Not too shabby a side project 😄 Also remember the other day some people were mentioning them as hopeful 2023 festival...well idk about headliner...but midcarders...in case RH doesn't put out a new album and tour again.

There are no album releases in 2022. It’s a phrase from a time long ago.

WTH are you talking about? Musicians still release albums but physical and digital.

You do know the Grammy’s have an album called “Album of the Year” right?

Sounds like Thom Yorke?, never heard of him. Who does Yorke sound like? 😁

Just like how eBooks ended paper books, Podcasts ended radio shows, etc, etc, etc

Pretty much. Name 5 book stores of your youth that are still operating in Knoxville or five radio stations with an actual human being at the controls. I would even give you 5 that don’t VT their entire daypart, but I want to make it reasonable.

They do, but not in the numbers released even three years ago. But where are you going to buy them now there are no record stores and Walmart has removed their cd racks.

And yes, as a former member of NARAS I am aware of the categories. Want Michael Greene’s phone number?

Ever heard of Amazon or Apple music. Those are trillion dollar companies. For example, if I wanted to listen to Fearless, I have these options. I can buy a physical copy from her website if I wanted to go back to 1990.

Things change. It's why people don't send faxes anymore. If radio stations could make more $$$ with a human at the controls, they would. If bookstores or newspapers still made $$$, tens of thousands wouldn't have shut down.
