New ‘Medicare-for-all’ bill would largely outlaw private insurance

I think it's a great bill. Since one of it's key sponsors is the new face of the party it forces every one of the Dem presidential candidates and almost all incumbent house/senate members to come out in full support of it.

Republicans couldn't have asked for anything better.

If the Dems take the WH this will be the next “National Emergency.” Thanks Trump.

Every first world country doesn’t spend on defense what we do. If they did, they couldn’t afford their health care. Can’t have both. Besides, who wants to be told by their government what to do with their life. Not me!

Most everyone over the age of 65 has medicare. They don't get told what to do with their lives. It is no different that having regular health insurance.

We have this bill, we have the new green deal bill and gun grabbing bill. Almost like they want to get Trump reelected and lose the House all in 2020

Exactly! We're idiots when it comes to defense spending. Defense spending we use to tell others what to do with their life (or we kill them)
I will agree that we are wasteful spenders. That being said, we are just about the only country that can stand up to Russia and China. We need our allies to pull their weight and we need to have better better fiscal oversight.

If this even passes it will get vetoed. An override majority ain't happening.

I’ve said it since the SOTU speech , 2020 is going to come down between Trump and the economy or ( fill in blank ) and socialism . That’s how it will be played out . It’s a dumb trap for the Dems to fall into but the cheese for the far left is just too damn yummy not to try a grab .

Well we spend more per capita than they do on health care, so go ahead and drop this fantasy.

all/most of them rely on private health care too. and the public ones are still broke.
That’s a point that always gets lost in the pitch. Also from the text of this bill the private supplement will virtually be outlawed and thus not available. This is theater nothing more it’s going nowhere. And it very well could backfire on the Democrats to boot.

The socialist liberals & socialist conservatives love a high cost model for healthcare. Greater access combined with increasing costs is idiotic. No wonder the ruling class is for it.
