It sounded like he spent the first scrimmage laying some hits but also finding himself out of place alot...

It also sounds like he was once again laying the wood in this past scrimmage...BUT...does anyone know if he improved on his assignments?

If so, does that mean he's about to replace Parrish?

Not sure. I know 2 things though.

1. Chief said yesterday that McKenzie is getting closer to getting a starting position.
2. On D. Moore's TD, chasing behind Moore was McKenzie. Not sure if it was his coverage or if he was coming from somewhere to catch Moore.

Either way, I think he is progressing and still think there is a good chance he may be starting by UF.

I want to see him take Tebow's head off. No more quarterback runs up the middle with McKenzie, McCoy, Hefney, and Mayo. These guys can hit.

When I picture that in my head I have trouble not jumping out of my seat!!!

I can see it now...he runs off tackle on one of his signiture runs...but...oops...he doesn't see McKenzie...and....POW!!! He gets blown up.

The hit is so bad his helmet flies off and he fumbles. And after a few of these hits a game from the Nevin McKenzie's of the SEC...the legend of Tim Tebow fizzles into a pipe dream

I'd also take a nice blind side sack by McCoy... crunch right into the lower back, knees buckle, arms flail forward as the ball flies out. Tebow staggers up and removes sod from the earhole he's looking through.

While that sounds nice, adding McKenzie will not make our defense hit Tebow harder. Mayo, McCoy and Hefney were all on the field last year and could not stop him.

It makes me sick to think about

Yes... but to be fair, we were still figuring Tebow out in that game. I don't think we believed that he would be able to have that kind of success running up the middle. Now we know better and will have to scheme to stop it.

It really starts with the tackles, those guys need to clog the middle and slow him down. Then our LBs and SS need to lower the boom. Hard. And our corners are really going to have to step up big on Harvin, Caldwell & co. Hefney and McKenzie can really help us there with some big hits, instill some fear in those guys when their crossing the field.

You guys are violent... i would just like to see Jerod Mayo come on a LB blitz and run up to Tebow and they both stop, talk and come to an agreement that Mayo was gonna sack him so Tebow just says "alright man" and just falls down to his knee and then they skip back to their respective huddles with daises flying around them and couldnt be more happier and then get ready to do it all over again :).... Go Vols

Ha ha.

I'd rather wreck enough havoc on his body that the throwing motion is painful. And put enough pressure that he "hears" the footsteps and makes bad decisions. But thats just me.

Amen. Make him feel like Doug Johnson vs. Al Wilson in '98... that play where it looked like Al was coming off the top rope to throw his body into Johnson for the sack. Sweet, sweet play.

We didn't know he wouldn't throw the ball even once.

I don't think at that point (up to and during the game) we really believe he would be able to get 4-5 yards a pop. I remember I kept thinking that sooner or later we would stonewall him... but we didn't. :banghead2:

fortunately we were able to see it liven and in person to prove our beliefs were wrong.

Ugh, yeah don't remind me. I'm just hoping we're not in for a repeat performance. I don't think I could bear it.

If we lose this game its going to start feeling like '93-'97 all over again...

He cannot run like that and play every down. Thus, Meyer has quitely been giving Brantely a lot of reps. I have been trolling and it seems Meyer is planning a two quarterback system with Tebow and Brantely. Plus, he knows Tebow will be getting hurt if he uses him as a running QB.

not for me......and the only reason why is that it's not spurrier and there isn't this hex on us like it felt then. while FL has won the last two, in neither game did i come away with this feeling like we had no chance or they were THAT much better than us. definitely not the anxiety we used to have with the spurrier teams, where we'd turn the ball over, penalties or it just seemed every imaginable good break for FL just fell their way.

in other words, i don't get the feeling that FL is "in our head" like they were in the 90's.

and winning a game against them in the not too distant future would go along way in keeping it that way.:)

if Tewob tries to put his head down and run the ball 20 times a game on a 12-13 game schedule for the next 3 years... somebody help me out here....
