I have never been to a pro game but I have been to many big Vol games usually vs. Gators. There is no way a pro game compares to the exitement of a college game is there? I like watching pro but college is real football to me. go Vols

The atmosphere at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis for a Colts game is very hard to beat, but gameday in Knoxville beats it. Professional games have more entertainment as far as who sings the national anthem, what music they play, super hot cheerleaders, contests, etc. It's a more entertaining atmosphere, but the game isn't as intense or loud as Neyland for a Tennessee vs. Florida game. Although, the RCA Dome can definitely get LOUD.

You can't beat a college game. We use to have season tickets n i went all the time growing up, and then i've been to 2 Titans games, its a downer actually, can't compare to the Vols

I've never been to a college game, but I went to a Titans game in Nashville back in 2003 when they played the Texans. The crowd was loud and everything as McNair and Co. put on quite a show that day, but I didn't think the crowd was that into the game. Dunno if it's just in Nashville or all pro stadiums, but the high school games I went to the had better crowds, as far as being into the game and every play.

I will agree with this, I was at the game Sunday against the Colts and it just wasn't as crazy as it should be. I know there was only 69,000 there compared to 100,000+ at Neyland but I was a little disappointed.

It actually sounds louder on TV than it did when I was there... maybe because it's so large and spread out, I dunno.

College - Louder crowd and more emotional

NFL - Better football with more "talented" cheerleaders

No offense but if you comparison base is the Titans or maybe the Falcons, I don't think you are going to the right pro games to make this assessment.

Try a Steelers, Bears, Packers, Eagles, Broncos, Chiefs, etc. game. Some place that has been around, has had tradition and has some diehard fans with at least two generations in the family.

I figured that had something to do with it as well, bham. Those cities are football towns for the most part. Those people live for Sunday afternoons at the stadium. Nashville isn't quite there yet.

i've been to lots of both...regular season speaking....there's nothing like a big time college game day atmosphere. I've been to many Steeler Games and it's pretty good tail gating....but not as good as TN.

the difference though becomes apparent in the playoffs for the NFL. i've been to two playoff games in my life...the 2003 divisional playoff in Charlotte for the Panthers and Cowboys....that hands down was the most fun i've ever had tail gating, during the game, after the game etc....it was absolutely awesome. the best game day and game i've ever been too. the other was the 2005 AFC championship game Steelers vs. Patriots. That too was very cool. And had the Steelers won, i would imagine that would have replaced the Panthers game as the best yet...sadly it did not happen. but the pre game and tail gaiting etc... before hand was a blast.

so for any/all regular season games...i give the nod to the college experience. but post season NFL....that's the stuff.

It's even better when 2 teams are actually playing for something, especially if they're in the same conference or league, like the Bears/Packers, Redskins/Cowboys, Browns/Broncos, Eagles/Cowboys, Titans/Ravens, Colts/Patriots, Broncos/Chiefs, etc. The colder it gets outside, the NFL stadiums will be loud if their teams are playing for something.

In college football, most stadiums get loud every game.

What I hate about the Titans game is the stupid guy who goes around and asks, "If you can guess what the temperature is, you win a case of hot sauce!!" Those shopping cart cartoon races at the Titans game between Betty the Hefer, Texas Pete, and all those characters are annoying. The cheerleaders, though.....Mmmm mmmmm mmmm.

I've never been to a NFL game, livin in Pittsburgh I can attest that these steeler fans know how to party on Sunday. I've been to 2 vols game one being the Sugar Bowl in 90 and I had a good time in NO that goes without saying. I would pick college football over NFL anyday.
