negative things surrounding UT

As the tittle says, with all the negative things surrounding UT does it affect our recruiting in the future?

With the latest garbage that has happened, I'm starting to wonder how long before there needs to be big changes at the top levels.

Most of the things happening at UT lately have been positive.... (because Butch gets it). Care to elaborate?

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A University of Tennessee official was arrested Tuesday on child porn charges.

Bruce Downsbrough, 60, was taken into custody Tuesday morning by federal agents, Knoxville police officers and officials with the U.S. Postal Service.

Downsbrough is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the UT Foundation, which oversees private donations to UT faculty and students.

According to an indictment, he's facing four counts of receiving child porn from out of state. His computer and several hard drives were also seized.

Downsbrough is being held as a federal inmate at a Blount County jail.

According to my crystal ball, an individual's actions should reflect on them, not on their position or title unless such inspection is necessary (such as being assisted materially in the illegal activity).

I would think that if things of this nature keeps popping up it has the power to affect football and any other sport. I'm not knocking UT. Just a question

Yep, heads will roll. As soon as they saw "likes child porn" on this dude's resume, they should have known to go a different direction. The fact that they still hired him speaks volumes to the character of our higher-ups.

you really think things of this nature are going to pop up? Sure if things similar to trading kiddie porn pop up often it could be an issue but is that really going to happen?

I mean, kids are still signing with ND...:whistling:

Butch is doing a great job recruiting and i'm on his side 100 percent.

I wasn't saying we had a rabbit bunch of kiddie porn lovers running around campus lol. Just saying it seems like every week something's going on. I'm talking all around crap.

Do I think it will hurt us in recruiting? Besides the little jokes that other schools/coaches/recruits will say about Tenn. NO. Still, Its not something you want to have going on within the University. It does not have to involve a sport.. What happened is pretty f-ing SICKENING!!

Hmmmm UT has been dealing with negatives for yrs now. R u, op, just realizing it now?? If we have been hurt by negatives it has already hit us. Only way is up from this pt unless something huge hits us, and I mean MEGA atp. Something like this isn't gonna do anything.

Just imho that's all...

and also had a professor arrested for advertising as a transsexual prostitute. Are people using that against UGA in recruiting?

No... But you can't tell me you don't cringe just a little when something pops up... It's just a simple fact they need to get something right up there..
