I know this seems really old but as a Packer fan I need your thoughts on Justin Harrell. When we first drafted him I thought we had a steal if he stayed healthy but the matter is that he hasn't.

I'm losing fate him in and starting to think he lazy and doesn't take care of his body. I need your thoughts. Thanks :)

Some people just can't get the breaks they need. He always seemed like a hard worker while he was here.

The guy played against Florida with a torn pectoralis muscle. He's got heart.

but why hasn't he stayed healthy? I'm not like other Packer fans where you would see them say and do stupid things **Brett Favre fans** I thought he was the number 1 DT in the class if he stayed healthy. But I ask again, what is with this guy and injuries and how do you see him doing in a 34 defense now that the Packers made the move.

Well, we're not him. All we know is he gave everything he had on the field as a Volunteer. Maybe y'all need to get a Justin Harrell fan club and let him know you're behind him and cheer him on instead of what I hear a lot of cheeseheads are doing calling him a lazy, fatass waste of a draft pick.

He might not ever be able to stay healthy. Some people just can't shake the injury bug.

If Harrell can ever stay healthy, you've got a winner, I don't care what scheme you run.

I can assure you his injury problem isn't a lack of heart or effort on his part. He's a class guy.

I think PAKKMANN didn't hear what he was wanting to hear, but after the effort that Justin gave while hurt on Shield Watkins, field it would be almost possible to find anyone here to bad mouth him. He's almost as popular with UT fans as Inky.

Harrell's injury woes date all the way to high school, where he battled shin splints and had a bad lower back. At Tennessee, Harrell underwent surgery for shin splints on his right leg in 2003 and missed more than half of spring practice that year. That August, Harrell broke a bone in his right ankle and missed the first five games of the season.

Harrell missed two games in 2004 with a right ankle sprain, and then went injury free in 2005. But in Tennessee's second game of the 2006 season, Harrell suffered a torn biceps injury. He tried to play the following week against Florida, and then opted for season-ending surgery.

Harrell didn't take part in any contact drills during Green Bay's post-draft minicamps and organized team activities last year because of that same biceps injury. Then he missed five games during the 2007 regular season with an ankle injury. Harrell underwent minor back surgery in mid-April 2008 after injuring a disc and he won't return until training camp.

Perhaps Harrell can't catch a break and his luck will soon turn. Or maybe he's just a player who will never stay healthy.

Disc injury the latest to haunt Harrell - JSOnline

And that is about as good of a perspective as you are going to find. The guy is respected among UT fans because of what he did to play in that Florida game. It was expected he would be the next in a pretty good lineage of DLineman to come through Knoxville, but the truth is when his season ended in September of his final year, it is pretty tough to evaluate that.

On paper, he has the physical tools. The consensus, based mainly on Florida, is that he has the desire, and as far as I know, he is considered a good guy. Those ingredients do not always translate into a great NFL player, expecially when injuries keep getting in the way. The guy is 24 years old and just finishing his second season, so there is still time for him to live up to his draft position, but he's going to have to stay healthy to have a shot.
