Need something from Bowden

Bowden is the weak link. May need to play Turner at the 2 and let Bowden come off the bench. He just doesn't give us anything other than good defense.

He had a good defensive game for the most part, but offensively, he's been a liability all year. Just looks scared to me.

I don't even remember him taking a shot. He was fairly good offensively last season too.

I dare ANYBODY to show me a game where Bowden plays BIG in big games. I have always said he plays as SCARED as they come in Big Games!! Just look at his career. But he will go 5-7 on 3pointers vs small schools or in blowout games that TEnn is supposed to win !!

Bowden is a role player and not really SEC talented. These type of games have always been too big for him.

I think that when Bowden draws extremely challenging defensive assignments we just can't expect him to step up on the offensive end at the same time. He works very hard on defense and simply doesn't carry the same energy to the other end of the court.

Even if he isn't scoring, opponents still must respect his ability to drain 3s. Having him on the floor results in Williams having more space to operate in the paint. Creating on offense just isn't in his repertoire.

If Turner can get it together on D I think he will take that spot eventually. Get healthy and consistent and JB will find his spot in the starting lineup be gone

Bowden lost it before sec play last year. Basically 4 on 5 on the offensive end when he’s in and won’t hardly even dribble now to loosen the defense @ all. Some well known people must be blind

That's ridiculous. He's one of the guys Barnes is referring to when he talks about guys 'HIDING'. He's got a choice. find the energy or find the splinters.

Lol what in the world? Stop making excuses. He has struggled since the second half of last season. If he cannot consistently make open looks then his minutes needs to be reduced. Everybody plays hard on defense. Didn’t really notice the defense lacking when he was not playing.

All his 3 point attempts were good looks and he didn’t even come close to making them.

Pons offers nothing on offense. His man will double down on Williams consistently until Pons proves he can hit an outside shot consistently. Hopefully Barnes will take opportunity in some of these next games to find someone who can demand attention. Turner right now is the only option but that makes the backup lineup very weak offensively.

Hopefully the team learned a lesson last night. Versus these top teams you gotta have killer instinct. Once you go up 6,7 or 8 pts in the 2nd half, quick 3s, contested 3s don't happen. You go inside every time, get a basket or get fouled. Williams and scholfield are mismatches most of the time. Let them work and get their points then. Scholfield played good on offense in OT once they put him down low.

2016 @ Chapel Hill 34 min played, 12 pts (5 of 10 with 2 3ptrs) 5 rebs 2 assists vs Tar Heels

I'm not arguing though - I'm just confused why he didn't build offensively on a solid freshman season. Pundits were calling Bowden
a 3pt specialist back then...then that faded away.
