Need Some Prayers

Update:

Had my first post op check in with my surgeon and got a great report. Hopefully will be able to drive again in the next couple of weeks and will start working a little from home Monday (not but a couple hours a day). Funny thing about my surgeon, I didnt know him until after they told me I would have to get the open heart and everything just went fast. I did a preliminary research on my surgeon and noticed he has gone to the University of Florida. I didnt have time to joke with him about being a gator until yesterday at my post op appointment. Told him if I had know before surgery that he was a gator, that I might have decided to just skip it lol. He laughed and told me he actually did his undergrad at UT and his first child's name is Neyland. We are now best friends :) Anyway, thank you everyone again for your thoughts and prayers, I really appreciate it and very thankful for this family.
Glad it's going good man.

Have had some chest pains recently and was sent to get a heart cath after stress test and all. Got some really bad news of significant blockage of 80%, 80%, and 70%, so they are transferring me over to surgery for an open heart bypass. Scared to death at this, but also scared of what could have happened if I didn’t get it checked. Would appreciate those prayers as I need them. Love you all
I just happened to find this post and thought i would send you well wishes and I hope your recovery has been good, I just had triple bypass surgery in May...I had 4 blockages but the surgion told me one he could take care of one without using a graft...I was suffering from angina attacks for awhile and went to a cardiolist to get checked out...Got the heart cath and the bad news, I had serious blockages 80%, 90%, 90% and the widow maker was at 97%...My doctor told me he couldn't believe I didn't suffer a major heart attack..I was immediately rushed to the main hospital in broward county and put in ICU...2 days later went under the knife and to be honest I wasn't that scared like I thought I would be, I was just glad they were fixing the problem...I don't remember hardly anything, I remember them putting me on the table and the next thing I was waking up in ICU with a cute nurse rubbing my arm and a that damn breathing tube...I hated that thing and couldn't wait for them to take it out...When they asked if I was in pain I lied and told them no and gave them a thumbs up hoping they wold take that damn thing out and finally they did..Whew!...What a relief...Anyways, I thought i would share my story and I hope everybody out there gets thier heart checked, This came on suddenly so its better to see it coming rather than it show up and get ya.

Similar here, 6 years ago. 4 bypasses. My blockage %s were worse. I had 2 heart attacks before going to Dr. I didn't even feel one one of them. The other was not painful at all.
After the bypasses I was a piece of meat on a hook for a week as they brought back one body function after another.
Pretty sure they give you something so you don't remember the trauma.
pay attention to those cholesterol numbers, especially LDL. That plaque builds up in the arteries and BAM.

I am happy to hear that you got it taken care of. We were both very lucky and were given second chances. A lot of mine was hereditary but I hadnt necessarily been the example of a healthy lifestyle either. I made major changes with diet and activity and I feel better than I can ever remember feeling in my life. I turn 49 in a couple of months and I am thankful for every day. Glad you are on the mend and I wish you a speedy recovery even though I know it takes time.
