Going by the spread they're giving NC State 5 points so if you pick TENN they have to win by at least 6 for you to win if I remember correctly. All the other stuff I'm not to sure and would like to know. I have no doubt with so many experts on this forum someone can break it down for me.

Bet Tennessee to cover the spread, must win by 6. Bet the total points over 56.5 or Under. Bet UT just to win (Moneyline) bet 190.00 to win 100. The vig/juice actually leans to Ncst, as you give up 15% betting on the "Pack", indicating that the books want you on Tennessee. And apparently on the under, as it costs less to bet the under, -105 to -115 if you bet the over. If you like UT just to win, You have to bet 190 to win 100, total payout $290. And if you like Nsct to win, you bet $100 to win 160, total payout $260.00 . Less the 5%(UT) or 15% (ncst) juice .

When I first tried looking up spreads and moneylines for soccer matches and felt just as confused. After a few tries, though, it got clearer, once you realize the spread is just about giving or taking away points to even up the odds, it starts making more sense. Moneyline really is just win or lose, but the payout odds make a big difference depending on the risk.

Soccer games are so low scoring in shocked they even have a spread.

My advice, don't gamble. You will lose 5 cents per dollar bet, on average, in the long run.

The "-5" under spread means Tennessee must win by more than 5 points for you to earn money (if you bet on Tennessee). If they win by exactly 5, then it is a "push" and they return your money. The "-105" under the "-5" is the amount of money you must bet to win $100. In other words, you must put up $105 for a chance to win $100. If you win, you receive $205, your initial $105 bet plus your $100 in winnings. If you lose, they keep your $105. You may bet any amount, naturally, but the amount you bet must be five percent more than the amount you may win.

"Total" is a bet on the sum of the two teams' final scores. "o56.5" means you are betting that Tennessee's final score plus NC State's final score sum to more than 56.5 points, i.e. more than 56 points. The half point is to prevent "pushes."

As another poster mentioned, "ML" is a money line bet. It is a bet on who will win the game. The "-190" means you must bet $190 on Tennessee to win $100. The "+160" means a $100 bet on NC State will return $160 in winnings if NC State wins. Therefore, NC State is the underdog in this game, which is also given by the spread of "-5" for Tennessee.

Here's the fun stuff:
1. You may calculate a subjective win probability from the money line if you assume that these are "fair" lines.
2. You may calculate a predicted final score using the spread and the total.
I won't bore anyone with the details unless someone really wants to know.
