Need computer help!

My DVD Burner won't burn DVDs or CDs will only allow Image recording.

Nero: When it ask my "current recorder" it shows 'Image Recorder' and that's all. A week ago it allowed me to choose my DVD/CD drive but not now.

Cheetah CD Burner: Tells me there is no CD or DVD Burner hardware installed

I've checked my Device Manager and there are no trips anywhere. WTF is wrong. Again, a week ago, it was working perfect

If your computer has a back up and restore center you can go that route.

What happens about 10-15% of the time is, the motherboard connectors for you drive (Sata or IDE) just go bad. It happens. The other 85-90% is the drives just go bad. That's pretty much it. There is one other thing, Windows can lose the drivers that run the drives, but I have seen that happen only once since 2001.
