Anyone on this board ever had one, or talked to someone who has?

Do you believe they exist or is it the mind playing tricks on people?

There've been times I could have died but I didn't have the proverbial near death experience.

I was in a car with my brother in law, he was driving, and my wife.

He had a blind spot turning left into traffic to gain access to a roadway to their parents house.

Well when he pulled out blindly a coal truck/construction truck was bearing down on us.

I thought for sure I was going to be obliturated, I was in the back seat, I just prayed that I would not feel any thing.

To my amazement we made it.

When I was a kid I remember riding my Dukes of Hazzard big wheel up and down the street.

Same sort of situation, I pulled out into the street blindly and the car was mere feet from me. Somehow I made it across......

I use to high dive off of bridges (3 different times to be exact) back when I was 17 and a bit risky and stupid.

craziness. I too had a Dukes of Hazzard big wheel. I was driving up and down my grandma's driveway. Someone came flying in off the road (she lived off a good sized hwy) and never saw me. Still not sure how i didn't get hit, but I was just a kid at the time and didn't really comprehend everything to have the "near death experience".

Also had a scooter.. one of the push off things that you stand on, not the motorized ones. I used to take off on that thing down the biggest hills i could find. so many wrecks, so many scrapes yet no breaks or tears. Even almost took an S-curve into a car, but nothing. Still no crazy experience, other than telling myself "hey stupid, don't do that again"

Colt 45 at less than 4 feet. It was accidental by a fellow Marine who was horsing around but he did alot of brig time over it and was booted. I actually testified on his behalf but it didn't do much good.

It was in the mid 80's. Funny thing is....the vest we had were very old and we bitched about having to wear them because they were hot and we didn't think they would even work! After that not another word was spoken. So the First Sgt let me keep the vest...which I still have. He said it was worth it since he didn't have to hear us bitch anymore.
