Is a good candidate and would be a steal at $3M.

For the "had to Google" crowd, here's a link to his wiki page.

I've mentioned him several times on here, have no clue why he isn't a volcano hot name, guess it's cause he looks like a nerd...Although, our new coach doesn't have a neck, so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

I'd be legit worried if y'all got Neal Brown.

That fact that David Cutcliffe is a hotter name than Neal Brown on this board really astounds me. We've got some really dumb fans, unfortunately.

Absolutely agree. If the fans could settle down and not try to destroy every hire on the front end - Neal could be a terrific long term hire. Give a young man time to build a program - the Vols will not be a quick fix under any scenario. I like Neal Brown as well as Campbell at Iowa State. The difference is that Brown is an affordable hire and already working the Sec territory.

Shopping off the sale rack again

Scott Frost has the same buyout...

It's a gamble... but certainly a more sensible gamble than Schiano, Cutcliffe, or Tee for that matter. People who are saying "no" aren't giving him the time of day because he's from Troy... yet that same crowd seems to be for taking a chance on Norvell? Nothing makes sense here.

I know it's not going to please the guys that are totally anti-up and comers, but I would definitely be on board with Brown. I think he is the best young couch available and could be a huge long-term winner.

Better than Schiano, so of course that means Currie doesn’t want, oh sorry haslam, and they won’t even talk too.

Guarantee whoever we hire it will be someone haslam sees as worse than Schiano so the family can continue to go to the media saying we overreacted to the guy they wanted and they know best and we should’ve listened to them.

If your goal is to win a National Championship it will be only wishful thinking with this coach. He only delivers 7-8 wins per year in the SEC. That is a fact. But that's OK if that is your only dream. If you want a Championship coach then you must turn your attention to Jimbo Fisher or Mike Leach. We can use 340 million dollars to upgrade our stadium, but cannot use any of this to get a championship coach. Texas A & M can reach out and buy Jimbo Fisher, but we can't. Why? Arkansas can reach out and buy Mike Leach's services, but we can't. Why? It's like building a house. Your house is only as good as it's foundation. We don't have a foundation and I guess we never will.

Would you rather have a "Google coach" like Neal Brown, who's absolutely killing it at Troy...Or an unproven assistant like Tee Martin or abject head coaching failure (And dinosaur) like Kevin Steele?

And no more of these fantasy names, that ship obviously never even left the dock.
