So we all know about NCST and their steller secondary. I haven't heard much about their defense besides that, so i am assuming their DLine and LB's are decent at best. But i was wondering about their offense..

Who are some players we should know about who could give us some problems. I know CDD praises Glennon and mentioned today that they have a crafty RB/WR...who else if anyone?

Nobody, they lost to Cincy 44-14 and got shut out against Fl State. They are just not a very good offensive football team.

They have the feel of Cincy to me. Remember when Pead busted a huge run for a TD? I hope our D can get settled early on.

I agree 90 percent. Something has to be considered for a hot streak though. They won 4 out of their last 5 games, one of those wins being the bowl game. Now, they lost their main WR and TE, so that's a significant blow, but if Mustafa Greene is in playing form, him and Creecey could be nightmares for us, as they're both really good backs. I just don't see Glennon being a huge factor, as Bryan Underwood, the understood #2 WR this year, is out. Their WR corp is very thin, but the offensive line is VERY good for a bunch of 2 and 3 stars (Robert Crisp is a 5 star).

Here are the highlights to the NC State, Wake Forest game. NC state lost 34 to 27. The game was at Wake Forest, but if a team like Wake Forest can hang 34 points on them, our offense should have no trouble at all. After seeing this, they don't scare me one bit.

Here is Sentimore's opinion on the NC State offense.

"They have a great offensive line. They have a good offensive line," Sentimore said. "That's pretty much it. The quarterback is average, receivers, average, but the offensive line is pretty good."

I heard that one of our DLinemen simply uttered a sentence and their OLine went from great to good to pretty good. SIAP

I also heard on the radio today (I guess it was Hyams show) that a long time NC state fan who now lives in Knoxville said that he is not too sure that NC state could get it done against the volunteers. I forget the name of the guy but his football knowledge earned him a spot on today's show. If someone remembers who the guy is they can enlighten us, I just can't remember the guy for the life of me.

This game has been promoted as the battle between two 1st round draft pick QBs. Within the last few weeks Glennon has been getting some recognition. I honestly didn't hear too much about him last season.

Needless to say, if we lose this game the season is probably a bust because if we can't beat them, we sure will not be able to beat UGA, SCar, UA, Miss St, and probably UM. Vandy would probably have a good match up with this team. If we lose to this team, there is a chance we lose to vandy this year.

Point is if we lose to this team we are in trouble.

Yeah, glennon has some good looks in those highlights, but it was nothing incredibly impressive. Though he did have one or 2 strong looks towards the end of that game.

Glennon is not a first round draft pick talent.

They have an experienced and good O-line and good QB. That's about it on on offense. Their defense they have a great secondary. That's their 3 strengths. Their biggest weakness is their LB's and D-line. We should be able to run it on them pretty well.

Linebacker is their weakest,,,correction,,,position that is unproven. Our offense should expose them at will. Their secondary is opportunistic - but not lock down. They will play zone hoping that Bray tosses a ball like the QB from Liberty. They will break on Bray's throws early on,,,and get burnt forcing them to back off.

Offensively, they have a big and mature O-line. We need to pressure Glennon, and it will be a test for our D-line. Their run game last year was just as horrible as UT's and I really don't see that changing - for them. They won't be able to run past our speed linebackers.

In a nutshell,,,we gonna whip dey azzzzz.

Their WRs are the weakest offensive unit. Glennon of course is a very good QB. Their line should be OK. RB is very deep and so is TE. I expect them to have their RBs involved heavily in the offense including catching a lot of passes out of the backfield. TEs will be a reliable safety net for Glennon.

I wouldn't expect many big plays from them, but they will definitely be focused on moving the chains and controlling TOP

I don't know how you think their running game won't be any better. You just said they have a big, mature OL. They will be improved in that facet from last year.

Also, Creecy has supposedly been very good in camp, and they regain the services of Mustafa Greene who was an excellent RB for them 2 years ago. He's not quite the back he was then, but he'll definitely play and will provide solid depth at the very least.

This is a good game for our D to have up first. It's a good test, not a great one, but it's not cupcake.

The offense is also going to be tested by the NCST D.

Overall, it's a good match up for us.

Their front seven is not impressive at all. They have a very good secondary. I think we will have very little trouble scoring on their D.

Okay - just watched the video. Glennon has a cannon. Really nice arm. Can throw those outs with a lot of zip and the ball gets there in a hurry.

If Wake Forest can put 34 on them, we should be able to do that no problem. I think we tear it up on Friday.

Will be interesting to see if we can penetrate their OL. They couldn't run it last year either and I'm sure they plan on running it better. If they can give the qb time, first game mistakes with a new D scheme could come into play. I think we will swarm to the run. I think we can hang with them on the outside, but am concerned about the middle of the field with the TE and slot on our lbs. If they get confused and that OL can keep us at bay, they will move the chains.

Can't wait to see what happens.

Cannon is an overstatement here. Compare his arm to Bray's then tell me he has a cannon.

Wrong. They were missing 7 starters for the Cincy game. We lost Hunter and had a nuclear meltdown. They lost 7. They can move the ball.
