The $$$$$$$$$ that schools make off thier time I think it's fair. It might put clean Dooley a little more level. cause ask Scam Newton schools pay.

Only a slight improvement over the indentured servitude that currently serves as the ncaa model.

How is a hard number slippery?

Because who gets to decide the number? Is the football team, who generates multpile millions upon millions for the school going to be ok with the women's volleyball team getting the same $ for generating nothing for the school? Besides, it's completely arbitrary and does nothing to solve the issue of agents and athletes getting paid

Who in the world do you think decides the number?

And yes, walking around money does address the issue.

To your first point, if it's the same number for all schools, all conferences, doesn't that give some schools and conferences a competitive edge? By that I mean, $2000 will go alot further in Tuscaloosa than it will in Palo Alto, CA, so Bama athlestes will in essence have more to spend because cost of food, apartment, etc is cheaper

To your second point - you have to be kidding

If they want index the number to a federal cost of living index, so be it.

Much of the issue about money from agents really is about having none. It won't address everything, but will relieve some pressure.

They payment would have to come from the NCAA. Only 10-15 athletic departments make money. But I do like the idea.

Really, they should be cutting coaches pay and giving it to the athletes.

Nobody is saying it's a panacea, but it will stop some.

very little, did you see the amount of money the Miami football players were getting? my guess thats closer to the norm than what we think for most major programs.

I wonder how many infractions have come from players taking a few bucks here and there on the side to get by. Quite a large percentage, I'd imagine.

No, it wouldn't stop the Terrelle Pryor and Cam Newton situations, but it would help quite a bit.
