NCAA WBB tourney 2026

Crow dinner BBQ at my house next month, all are welcome, BYOB. 😅

I’ve been out all day and just checked the score. I thought maybe I was hallucinating. Congrats to HC Cori Close and UCLA.
I’ll be there. If @brittannica is bringing the beer, I’ll bring the banana pudding. Meringue or whipped cream?

and, yes. UCLA put on a seminar and did it with class. Congratulations to them!

Next year Lady Trojans will be the favorite if coach can blend that roster to playing as a team.
You could be right of course. Texas and LSU bring back much of their rosters as well. If Mich adds a good big and keeps their core they are in play. Uconn is always there also. I suspect SC will need portal help at the PG spot, and you never know about teams like Duke, ND, Vandy etc.., it’s all good for the game. Something tells me this ending to the season was meant to be. At the least, it was a wonderful story.

Some sages have learned to read between the lines.
I wasn’t referring to any subtle lines my fiend, my mind was obviously elsewhere with the comment. But in deference to your wit I would only add there was more territory there which could have been explored. We have our limits I suppose, but the edge is often as far as it need go.

I would go on, butt you of all already knew this. Peace my good man, look forward to your wonderful humor and exquisite literary skills again in the fall. If you have not written professionally before or even privately in a published way you may have missed an opportunity.

I recall many times over the years when your writing skills and wit were as sharp as I have seen. No smoke, take care of yourself well, we want you around for a long while. Send me a message if you would like to meet up in Maine for a coffee or dinner. Would be my pleasure, and my dime.

South Carolina just made history biggest beat down in NCAA Final game ever.
They looked good until the game started
To be factually, correct it was the third worst. They were losing by the most ever until the last few minutes when the benches were emptied, and the MOV ended up being 28. SC has lost by a total of 51 points in the last two years, but they were in the finals two consecutive years.

Perhaps @ncteacher88 has an axe to grind, perhaps not. Is there a point here however? It’s a small matter.

Close is a terrible coach. Nothing has changed. She just happens to have the best roster by a large margin this season.

Getting rid of Barker did wonders for their chemistry as well. They were a miserable team at the end of last season.
She had a great plan today. I don’t watch many of their games, maybe you do, but her game plan today was excellent. Must be nice.

Seen on Twitter NCAA tournament women's basketball
Might expand 76 teams next year
24 teams playing in the first round 12 games decision coming this April2026

Ucla will have the toughest rebuild to get back to final 4 but Portal will help. Your Roosters will be back with Lsu and Texas has plenty of Money so I believe they will challenge as will Conn. So these 4 with USC are my 5 favorites Duke right behind.

Right back atcha, Mate!

It has been a pleasure sharing these pixels with a fellow lover of the game. You are not only a Gentleman, in the best sense, but un buen caballero as well. Moments trading barbs with you is time well spent.

As to Ms. Close and her detractors, I have to wonder if they have gobos* between their
eyes and the game. I really knew very little about her, and will confess to being a Dawn Staley admirer. Based on what I saw tonight I hold the UCLA coach in high regard.

Coaching at a championship level demands, at a minimum 1) assembling extraordinary talent ✅, 2) molding talented “me's” into “us” ✅, 3) team and player development ✅,
4) game planning ✅, 5) in-game adjustments✅. Uncommon outcomes only happen when a coach can do all of the above, plus earn 6) mutual loyalty among players and coaching staff. Dawn checks all the boxes. So too, based on what we have seen of UCLA in last year's tourney and tonight’s game, does Ms. Close.

The point is it was not the worst loss in history, it was the third worst loss in history. My point was I like things to be factually correct when possible, although this is not necessary when it’s an opinion.

However, I would be lying if I did not say that during the entire fourth quarter that I was not doing math continuously hoping the margin of victory would stay at 34 or greater.
