I don't see much debate here.

You are 14-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Let's assume that you need 20 wins, plus a .500 conference record. (Yes, there have been exceptions to this over the years, but its a reasonable benchmark).

Your remaining schedule:

01/28at #25 Kentucky01/31Georgia02/03at #1 Florida02/06#22 LSU02/10Vanderbilt02/13#25 Kentucky02/17at S Carolina02/21#12 Alabama02/24at Arkansas02/27#1 Florida03/03at Georgia

I believe that if you are realistic you must assume losses to Kentucky coming up, on the road, without Lofton, and with them needing a W. I think also that if you are realistic you must assume losses in both Florida games.

That gives you 6 SEC losses with 8 other SEC games. To get to 20 wins, you must win 6 of them. And, if you win 6 of them, your SEC record will be 8-6.

If you win 5 of the reasonably possible 8 games, you are 19-10, 7-7. At that point you absolutely MUST have an SEC tourney win to get in.

To win 6 of 8 of the realistic games is going to be tough. The good news is that only three of the 8 possibles is on the road, the rest at home.

You are about to find out just how good Pearl is.

We're absolutely a bubble team and at this point its becoming more and more likely that we don't make it!

From Espn... * and note they had us at a bubble team when we were 2-2 in the conference!

Plain and simple, the SEC gives me a headache. Here's what we know: Florida and Kentucky will be in the NCAA Tournament. Mississippi and South Carolina won't be.

The other eight teams? Anyone who says they know is lying.

Here's how I broke down the SEC bubble this week:

• Tennessee (No. 8 seed, S-Curve No. 30): The Vols lost three straight heartbreakers on the road before nipping a pretty mediocre South Carolina team at home. Their power numbers (InsideRPI No. 17; SOS No. 12) are outstanding and there are some nice nonconference wins on the résumé. Tennessee, though, is just 2-2 in the SEC, and at times I think they couldn't guard me.

I didn't say its impossible. I said let's be realistic. Florida is one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the country. Imagine their motivation factor coming up this year versus UT. Again, I did not say impossible. But honestly its probably less than a 5 % shot in either game.

How'd that motivation factor work out for the Gators last year in the second game vs. UT?

I love how LG acts like a team that lost to Florida State is the equivalent of the '87 Lakers.

Honestly, do you expect UT to win either of the Florida games this year?

You are a reasonable guy. Of course you don't.

Hard to win on the road in the SEC this year. Saying that UT only has a 5% chance to win at home against the Gators is a bit ridiculous.

I don't expect UT to win either game, but I didn't expect them to win last year either.

Did you expect Florida to lose a combined 4 games to South Carolina and Tennessee last year or to Florida state this year? It happens. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Vols beat the Gators in Knoxville.

You don't think Florida is one of the top two or three teams in the country?
I do. However, they are not so good that they would be a 19-1 favorite against a team that beat Texas, OK State, and Memphis. If they can lose to FSU, who is the very definition of mediocrity, they can certainly lose in Knoxville.

Florida was about as motivated to win that game as you are to see Steely Dan in concert. Plus they were sick and injured and all around out of it. And yet they almost pulled it out.

At Florida, it will be a slaughter. Repeat, a slaughter.

At UT, when the crowd gets on Noah, he will have a different reaction this time than perhaps in the past. Which is to say he will feed off of it. Another blow out W for the Gators is very likely.

HAHA, we'll see lawgator. You sound a little defensive. Our team is scary, i dont blame you.

When has Noah ever curled up into the fetal position when the crowd has got on him? From what I've seen, he's always soaked it in and pounded his chest harder depending on crowd noise.

Scary in the sense that they might take my milk money?

Scary in the sense that they are right now a middling NIT team?

Scary in the sense that Pearl might set himself on fire to motivate the chess club?

scary that depending on what team shows up, they could embarass you. Why don't you go find some Florida boards?

UF is 0-2 against Pearl right now. You might have the upperhand this year, but as of right now, he owns you and there's nothing you can do about it. :neener2:
