No more two man wedge kick off returns!!!! Football might as well be played with shorts and a belt with flags hanging down.......

Seriously though, the new OT change seems pretty cool.
I just wonder if they keep flipping fields. At some point jogging to other 2 yard line for each team to get their shot in an OT then once they get their shot trot to other end. Lol

It sounds like it starts when a game reaches a 5th OT not after the 5th OT.
My bad. I was reading quickly. At first I wasn’t crazy about the idea as I like the drama in a game like LSU vs A&M but now that I’ve thought about it more the defenses are so tired at that point anyway that teams are usually scoring every time anyway so it ends up coming down to the 2-point conversions. It’ll be interesting to see how it looks this Fall.

Head contact while blocking will eventually go away but McNally (use to coach OL for the bengals) has been preaching centripetal force for awhile but the results aren’t the same... see our offensive line in ‘15... I don’t know a lot about all the techniques (maybe slightly more than the average fan... whatever that means) but from my humble view it doesn’t look like it will go away anytime soon.

Also, a lot of those hits and blocks are revenge blocks or hits... so you won’t get rid of that in its entirety. I mean you get a big guy blocking the crap out of you all game with no space to give you a leg up and now your running with a lot more space and now you have the upper hand on him.... 99.9% of the time you’re going to take that shot.

I like big hits and I can not lie.

I’m not sure how they will regulate helmet to helmet between the tackles, the blindside block away from the play will be easier, a blindside at the point of attack could be the only way to get an effective block, just don’t use the top of your helmet or go helmet to helmet at all.

Leave revenge to the nerds.

It will take time to understand any changes to targeting calls, but rest assured whatever they're doing will take away from the game. Sarcastaball is not far away...

Just eliminate the kickoffs and save some time.
They didn't fix the targeting rule problems.

Personally, I'd rather them bring back ties after the 5th OT. If you can't break a tie in 5 OT a tie is what it is. Use the old rule for overtimes and championship games.

Well that would make things a lot more difficult for the CFP committee....but it might push them to expand to 8 teams.

I am not a fan of The Blindside block rule. I feel like that some of the exciting moments. However I know the alternative is to eliminate special teams completely.

The five overtime rule kind of sucks because if a game gets to that far then it's a good game. However that will affect a very very small amount of games in the scheme of things.

As it relates to the Blindside rule I do think this is another judgment call that will cost us at least one game and probably our best player. And second so do you have to let the guy run by you if you were going to Blindside block him or can you get in his way at least?
