Plus there's the fact that NBA is pretty much the only thing 2K has going for them right now. I don't see them jumping into the fray.

As a whole 2K has a lot more going for them then one might think. They have Bioshock and Borderlands series and GTA V. But sports wise, yeah their bright spot has always been NBA. MLB series sucks and the previous attempt at college football was bad. But I'd be interested to see how a new spin on football would be with next gen graphics and possibly a NBA 2K-type feel.

...the publisher will continue to work with the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the entity that handles trademark licensing and marketing services for universities. A source familiar with the agreement tells Joystiq that EA's current licensing extension with the CLC is for three years starting on July 1, 2014, and is for a non-exclusive college football game.

Should have clarified. I meant 2K Sports.

EA Sports reaches agreement with CLC for new college football video game | SI Wire

EA Sports and Collegiate Licensing Company, the agency that manages the licensing of college football programs, have signed a new agreement for EA’s college football games, reports Polygon.

The new contract with EA will start next July and run for three years.

EA now has the rights to use “more than 150 colleges, conferences and bowl games” in its college football video game series.

Electronic Arts reported $3.8 billion in net revenue during its last fiscal year and, aside from its NCAA Football franchise, is well known for Madden NFL, FIFA Soccer and other games.

EA Sports first began making an NCAA Football game in 1998 and it has generated more than $1.3 billion in sales in the U.S. alone.

The NCAA announced earlier this week that it would not renew its licensing agreement with EA, but EA and the CLC said they would continue to produce the popular college football video games.

I know this will be laughed at, but they also now make the WWE game, this will be its first year with it.

Yeah I saw that. Looks interesting.

So with the new CLC agreement with EA, what exactly changes without the NCAA being involved? Anything major?

Same ole copy and paste game saved under a new file name...just not affiliated with the NCAA anymore

Bingo. Will they run through the T, though?

They don't even do that now.

They really need to focus more on pregame stuff and traditions, especially if they're pretty much just going to put out almost the same gameplay each year.

(and showing them all, not just a quick pregame cut of like part of the band)
