1 year bowl ban. Loss of X scholies for 1 or 2 years.

No ginormous whoop.

Alabama got a pretty big one back around 2000 but it was their third major sanctions event in a 7 year period. They kept getting in trouble while they were on probation and the NCAA director said they came as close to getting the death penalty as anyone since SMU.

To think what might have been . . .

What the hell is taking so long? Why does it take this long to establish what happened? The uncertainty is killing recruiting

The only schools over which the NCAA has power are those schools which allow the NCAA to have power over them. Unfortunately, we have one of the last chancellors - among schools with significant athletics programs - who seems to care what the NCAA thinks.

This is truer than anything I have read,,

For those who are saying we should tell the NCAA to pound sand or GTFO, etc., what exactly does that mean? Do we give out scholarships anyway even if they say we can't? Do we make independent arrangements with bowls and go there even if we're not allowed? Do we refuse to pay fines levied against us? Do we play games and count them as wins even if they are supposedly vacated? How do we just thumb our noses at the NCAA without repercussions? Serious question here. What does that mean?

Pretty direct question. I'd say the silence is deafening
