am i the only one that has noticed that in campus legend mode on NCAA 08 that you always play day games? there is never a night game, even for the national championship. night games are sooooo much better, to me at least.

also, i hate the fact that you can't play on any special teams. as a WR/DB/RB you still aren't put back there as a return man. hell, i think it would even be fun to do a career as a kicker.

these are just a few basic improvements that need to be on 09 in my opinion. what would you guys like to see?

I'd like to see an innovation that made 09 drastically different than every other NCAA Football game ever made. I'm not sure what, but they need to do something to make things fresh and new. I think the series is getting a little worn out sort of like the Tony Hawk franchise.

To me the presentation is getting old. The National Championship game doesnt feel any different than any other game. I wish they would just totally revamp the presentation. The gameplay is great, just minor tweaks are acceptable there.

despite the introduction of campus legend mode, ncaa football '08 was missing a ton of features and lacked a bunch in detail in certain aspects. there was no home field advantage, no spring game, hardly any pre or post game presentation, crappy celebrations, and dull post game emotions (if any) after a big win, or any win for that matter. this was especially true after the conference championship games and the national title games where hardly anything happened after you won. also, the sidelines really need to be worked on. besides the head coaches and players, there were no chain gangs, no media, limited coaching staffs, etc. it just seemed very baren. all of this definitely needs to be added into the game this summer, because as good as '08 was, there was alot missing.

and it would probably be asking too much but i would love to see team specific entrances for home games. (running through the t, miami runing through the smoke, clemson running down the hill touching the rock, etc.) that would almost make this game IMO.

i definitely miss but also think they will bring back the spring game and homefield advantage. all of your other ideas are great, especially the home team entrances (i don't think your team even enters on 08). as you said, the sidelines were pathetic. they were just like 30 fat dudes and one head coach. now that you brought all of these ideas up, NCAA 08 was pretty crappy

I bet all they add next year is home field advantage and maybe a pregame show. Which would make it better but not the best it could be.

The depth charts are very clunky, they were alot easier to manage on the PS2 version than on the 360. Also, i'd like for formation subs to be included as in the PS2 versions.

when you say coaching mode, would you want it to be just like a normal dynasty but you start out at a small school? or would you want something new where all you do is recruit and call plays but not actually control the players?

as far as the gameplay goes, '08 was great. but the ps2 version was more a of complete game than the 360 version. if i were ea sports, i would get this problem fixed, and fast.

oh, and you're right. there were no team entrances. the thing that bothers me most , though, is the absence of pre-game warm ups and post game celebrations. even ncaa football 2002 had the warmups and probably a better pre-game presentation. that says alot IMO....

They need to take a page from the playbook of 2k sports when it comes to gameplay presentation.

Something along the lines of what UT4ME said, they need to add the Championship Subdivision teams (D1-AA) and have a type of dynasty mode like 2k has in College Hoops where you start out at a small school, or you can play a open dynasty and start out where ever you want.

i also don't like the fact that it's very hard to move up in the rankings. if you start the season outside the top-20 you can go and beat 6 top-10 teams, go undefeated, and still not make the championship game.

NCAA needs to use the ESPN license they have. They need to add weekly shows recaping the games of the week and have a Pre-Season show like College Hoops.

Here's my list, most I think have already been said...

1. Add Refs, celebrations, pre-game shows. The small extra things make the game more lasting. And they would need to make the celebrations more accurate. In earlier games I hated that everyone jumped up and down like they won the NC after beating a 1-AA team.

2. Team specific pre-game intros. I hadn't thought about this until I read this thread, but how awesome would it be to see the players walking come up from the locker room and then switch camera angles to see them running through the T.

3. Really incorporate ESPN and College Gameday into the game. Have a little clip of the Gameday guys on the game of the week location talking about your matchup. It would be cool to see them actually at a different school and then talking about your game. And have an option to turn it on/off. And add a college gameday final that you can view from the espn.com thing if you wanted to.

4. A coaching career mode. Start at your school or start as a young coordinator and work your way up the ranks with interviews and job offers during the offseason.

5. Fix the ranking process. It's worse in the game than it is in real life. I can be a mediocre team, but be undefeated and beat 4 top 5 teams and still not be in the top 25. It is frustrating as hell.

6. Give you a choice on recruiting settings. Let you choose classic or advanced. The new recruiting was ok, but it became too time consuming and a pain in the butt after one year of it. And don't penalize people for doing classic recruiting. I'm tired of having the #1 team in the nation and getting 2 players in the top 150 when I sim recruiting.

7. Fix the navigation and horrible lag on depth charts and roster editing.

8. Be able to create a player and put him on a specific team. I would rather put my created player on the team I want instead of being forced to recruit him, and he goes somewhere else about 90% of the time.

Does EA Sports' website allow you to email suggestions to them? It is blocked here at my work computer, but I know you used to be able to do that.

I agree with all of the suggestions you all have said. I have always wanted the custom intros. I think the only one they've had(I think it was like 05' or 06') was Miami running through the smoke, and I don't think they have that anymore. I would also like to see them add a feature where you can update your team throughout the year that would be based on the real team. Basically you could connect your system to the computer and update rosters/depth charts that might change based on injury or if say a freshman(Berry/Vinson) were to come in and be more dominant than the upper classman that was ahead of him, or if a player were to decide to change numbers and EA doesn't have that change on there yet.

Thats something that i've wanted. Don't start as a head coach, but positions coaches and work your way up.

actually they had a notre dame intro a few years ago where they showed the players coming out of the locker room patting the "play like a champion" sign above the door, but they got rid of it.

and yeah, they did have miami running out of the smoke. but if i remember correctly, they had a bunch of other teams in the game doing it was well so it wasn't all that unique.

I like that too, but I'm not sure that kind of game is feasible.

What do you do? As a coordinator, you just call your plays? What about as a position coach, what the hell do you do? Recruit?

One year, can't remember which one, Clemson ran down the hill and touched their "rock"

Position coaches could have little mini-games with whatever position they coach. Route running, pass catching, blocking etc with WRs, tackling drills with LBs, etc al. You could get points to adjust their attributes. Then you recruit in the off-season

Then the games would just be simmed.

That could be kind of cool, but it would get repetitive.

If you were a position coach, when it came time for the game, you can just play your players position, like Campus Legend Mode in 2008. Then as an OC, or DC, just control your side of the ball. Then as a HC, control the whole team.

I get it, I just think the activities of a position coach would be too trivial for an entire portion of the game to include it.

OC and DC are good Ideas, I just don't know that this game mode would be attractive to enough people to bring it in the game.

I'd like for them to spend that time working out the INT problem and making the recruiting not take so long. I'd like to see them fix the pancake statistic. There are just alot of more "game relevant" issues I'd rather see worked out.
