'26 NC State Transfer RB Hollywood Smothers

Desean ran for 1076 yards and 16 touchdowns. While averaging right at 6 yards a carry. While also being in his RS-SO year. Plus he is solid at pass pro. That is pretty legit numbers for those that think he is a RB 2.

His runs aren't always dynamic like some want. But discounting his ability because it's fun to window shop new RB's is probably a mistake. Ill be happy with him as the lead back next year.

Call Bishop whatever you want. I’ll take 1000 yards, 16tds and 5.9 ypc all day every day, especially from a soph.
Too much focus on 100 yard dash times and “home run hitter”. Who cares when you can carry the ball twice and move the chains. How many 75 yard runs have we seen in the playoffs?

Heup likes to run down in orange zone, (within 25 yards of end zone. I dont think Bishop can break past third level.

Was Emmitt Smith more explosive than Jalen Wright? But he was definitely better than Jaylen Wright.

It took Sampson till week 14 to actually do anything in the NFL while the Ole Miss/OSU was making an impact for Cleveland all season.

There’s more to running back than taking it to the house Everytime you get a daylight, and Bishop had a few of those as well.

He’s a sophomore and Bishop just had his first 1,000 yard season.

You just said Heupels system makes anyone look good then turn around and say it didn’t work out for Peyton Lewis. Which is it….??
1) Nobody said the only thing that matters is explosiveness. Tennessee needs to have an explosive element in the rushing attack, in which Bishop has not provided against the better teams beside the Alabama game. The NFL in 1990 and Tennessee offense are very different lol

2) What does the NFL have to do with Heupel's offense? Did Jalin Hyatt suck in the offense by that logic... Also that statement is just blatantly not true lol. Sampson was heavily utilized as the third down back to complement Judkins and that was from the jump. He had 8 receptions in week one. He averaged six touches a game as the backup RB on a team that was always down lol

3) Again, nobody said it is all about the home run. Nobody is saying Bishop isn't valuable lol. There was just no playmaking on the ground in big games when the passing attack stalled

4) Simply being a young player doesn't mean there is another huge step forward. He is what he is, which is someone you want getting a lot of reps in a RB duo

5) Peyton Lewis was fine when he played. What didn't work out was him being the consistent explosive play generator that he should have been. That is a role that needs to be filled. Bishop was better than Lewis. Does not change the fact that they need an explosive play threat

What happened here? Really wanted this guy

Seems like Bama has all the momentum here
