It looks like both UT and Auburn have their games in the Dome scheduled for Sep. 1st. Has there been any confirmation what the schedule will be for the 2 games, and which game will be moved to another day? It's already been announced that Vandy and USCe will play on the first Thursday, so I'm guessing Thursday is out.

Is Sunday or Monday a possibility? NFL doesn't start that week.

Those are possibilities, but I doubt UT would want to have a short turnaround and play again on the 8th, even if it is against Georgia St.

A Labor Day game would be awesome for us! We played UCLA a few years ago on Labor Day...Kiffin's season I think...lost an ugly game.

To be the only game for exposure would be much important than 1 or 2 days to prepare for a game that is a W no matter what. I hope its Thur/Sun/Mon.

I REALLY hope it's on Saturday. We really don't want to become one of those teams that has to play on weeknights to get our games on TV. That's what USCjr and Miss St. have been doing for years.

I agree for home games. Also another thing to consider about this situation is its a holiday weekend.

Last year 2 games were played on Sat....one on ABC and one on ESPN....I would tend to think the same will happen again.

For Sunday or Monday night, I'll agree with you, especially on Labor Day weekend. Playing on Thursday night is different though. That's not part of a "holiday weekend", that's just another crappy Thursday night football game.

Mid season yes I am against a Thursday night game. However starting the year I would be very excited for that game to be on Thursday.

I like the idea of us playing on Thursday. I have a reason to skip class on Friday, I get to spend two days in Atlanta instead of one, and we get more exposure. Plus, nine day break instead of seven before we play Georgia State, which is basically a bye week anyway.

Maybe they'll play them simultaneously in the GA Dome. ESPN can televise the action on one half of the field, and ABC can handle the other end. That would be wild. :)

Split the tks 25% for each team and alternate plays amongst the 4 teams. I like that idea!

Meh. Playing on Thursday night is a slippery slope that I'd rather UT not venture down. I know 10-15 years ago we played Ole Miss on a weeknight, but I hope we don't do that again. Playing on Thursday has always been reserved to the USCjr's of the world who suck but still want to be on ESPN, so that's what they do to get the exposure, but even after a few down years I' d still like to think we're above that.

If we ever played a home game at Neyland on a Thursday, Neyland would be empty. Our fanbase is too far spread out ie. Memphis, Nashville, etc for people to go to a Thursday night game and get home at a reasonable hour to have to go to work on a Friday
