'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

Many times, yes. Watching the All-22, I've seen several instances of guys open that he doesn't recognize, or recognize fast enough before the separation closes. He definitely can improve on that, so hopefully the game slows down for him even further.
Where do you find these films? I’d love to watch some film

The offense as a whole struggled because of a terrible combination of lack of experience, talent, and coaching. There were so many plays this year that Nico didn’t see someone right down the middle cuz he felt pressure. There were several over throws that could have changed a game early. Any time this year that the opposing D-line had a pulse, our O-line got whooped. The scheme overall was boring and non creative, and we had a combination of lack of talent and poor usage of the talent at the skill positions compared to the elite teams. Considering the ineptitude around Nico, I thought he played pretty well this year. However, if Nico doesn’t progress, Halzle gotta go
People act like we had the worst offense ever it was top 10 in scoring and for part of the season was 1 or 2. Yes it wasn’t pretty at times especially in big games but it wasn’t a bad offense statistically.

Take out the games against cupcakes and look at those stats again

I’m happy with the season. Didn’t like the blowout last loss, but it was a very successful season. However, to never eclipse 300 passing yards against a power 4 opponent, and to be held under 250 against all but vandy and Kentucky is pathetic

Happens when you don’t hit the big plays that are there

hard to compare against this OSU team. They are very, very talented. They overcome bad plays by making exceptional ones.

We have a chance to evaluate, see some of our issues, and fix them. Playoffs have been fun to watch to see the offensive and defensive coaching. Really well coached teams.

One of the analysts said he’s the best looking QB he’s seen at this event since 2017.

It has been a while since we have seen a five-star prospect lace up the cleats and compete inside the AlamoDome, and Faizon Brandon absolutely lived up to his billing as the No. 1-ranked prospect in the class of 2026 — so much that we would argue he's the most talented recruit to actually work out at the National Combine since (Trevor) Lawrence in 2017.

Brandon displayed a live arm during drills and was accurate to all three levels. He then showcased some nice touch during 1-on-1 drills and was able to throw his targets open. Brandon has posted a 29-1 record as a starter the past two seasons at Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley and is coming off an 11th-grade campaign in which he completed 77.1% of his passes for 2,814 yards and 35 touchdowns against just two interceptions.

Having had a chance to scout some of our other early five-star prospects in the 2026 cycle up close and in person the past few weeks, we are more confident that we have the right player at the top of the board.
