I put this in the football forum because it was suggested in the thread about SEC officials the League might look at Robots. Apparently the NBA already has. Dont know if it would be feasible on the much larger football pllaying surface.

SEC already has that. The league tells officials who is to win and they go out and act like robots making calls without watching the game. IE..they are in a robotic state.

It really isn’t that hard actually it is just money for the technology and the time to perfect. The amount of dollars required to buy the number of cameras needed and the computer power to do it at so many arenas/stadiums is the challenge.

NFL is also using Sony Hawk-Eye to measure first downs.

Pure question of curiosity. Is that player salary, team value, or franchise purchase value? Been a Reds fan since childhood and they are historically cheap
I meant the franchise value. Honestly the Grizzlies might be a bit less than those combined -- it's all theoretical until one is sold.

Forbes 2025 valuation of the Cincinnati Reds: $1.325 billion
Forbes 2025 valuation of the Memphis Grizzlies: $3 billion

Forbes 2025 player expenses for Cincinnati Reds: $161 million
Forbes 2025 player expenses for Memphis Grizzlies: $169 million

Forbes 2025 operating income for the Cincinnati Reds: $29 million
Forbes 2025 operating income for the Memphis Grizzlies: $44 million

The NBA franchise values were calculated in October of 2024 and the MLB ones in March of 2025, which might actually have some relevance.

Also owners can have a certain degree of negative operating income and still do fine, since the team valuations are rising quickly enough to offset losses if they have enough liquidity.

The SEC already has the perfect system in place----instant replay. The problem with instant replay is that idiots are deciding the play and they're stupid. Maybe they could use the robots for instant replay----that may work o_O o_O o_O o_O

MLB moving to auto-umps for strikes and balls in 2026.
Each team has 2 challenges per game.
Opens the door for more tech into the game.

Dipping toe in pool. They aint got a hair on their ass…
