Is anyone getting either of these games? NBA Live 19 is Xbox or PS4. NBA Live 2k19 is multiple platforms. Can do Switch or PS4. Currently leaning toward Switch. Thoughts?

I got Live 18. Mostly because I got it on sale for like $4 on the Xbox store.

I know NBA 2K got decent reviews on the Switch.

Neither are what I would call good games. Something has always looked kinda off with Live, and 2K copy and pastes their game with minor tweaks and stuffs it with microtransactions. The better game of the two is probably 2k though if you're dead set on getting a basketball game

Always been a huge 2k fan. However with the lack of competition they’ve gotten too comfortable and I think this year will be the first year I don’t buy

I demoed both in 18 and preferred and bought Live. Haven’t checked either out yet this year though

I think I've bought 2K for 10 years straight or so, and this is the first year I won't. Maybe at Christmas, but probably not. Since 2K12 or 13, it's just been a slow and steady decline. Yes, the game has gotten crisper and looks aesthetically amazing, but I can't justify spending 60+ just to play a Career Mode that has been turned into a cringe story mode with a character I didn't choose. No thanks 2K.

How hilarious is it that when the MyCareer trailer was shown on Twitter the only thing people cared about was being able to skip cutscenes lol. I just don't think 2k gets it, people just wanna make a player, and play games. That's it.

Really liking the game this year. I skipped 18 until it went on sale later in the year and this one is a great improvement from 18. Defense is boss and you really have to run plays and setup open guys. Few people are upset that you cant just speed burst blow by defenders all game long now, but those people are in the great minority it looks like thus far. Deepest franchise anywhere and although I haven't tried it yet, the online league has brought in everything that is in a single player franchise mode. Havent tried park yet, but will probably play a little of it this weekend.

Live 19 is great and I played a lot of the demo, but the one thing that separates 2K from it is franchise mode. Live just didn't do anything at all really to improve their pretty piss poor franchise mode. If you like the park mode aspect to your basketball game, then Live is probably very hard to pass up for 2K.

Sounds even better than Call of Juarez

2k is my favorite sports game by a mile. Last year’s story mode was cringey but you have to remember these games are targeted at 11 year olds just as much as they are 30 year olds. Some cheese is going to be included. This year’s story seems much more interesting and realistic.

My GM is always great, in my opinion. I don’t do the story version of it though.

Gameplay beats NBA live no question. The two aren’t even in the same stratosphere. And the commentary is much more in depth as well.

2k is pretty much my only guaranteed video game purchase each year.

Went with NBA 2K 19. The kid was driving me crazy to get this game. Got the Switch game. Hope he likes the game. Thanks, everyone.

2K is so good. I am really enjoying the game as far as a franchise sports game. Havent played much competitive or online with it and probably wont. There is a great roster being developed for the PS4 and one for the Xbox with 30 or so college teams. The one for the PS4 will include Tennessee. I have checked out some of the teams he has already finished and its incredible how accurate it is. The guy has done the for a couple of years and he has a post on OS Skillaz or something where he has all the instructions on getting the download and creating a league.
