I'm OK with the quality but think Richardson & Rogers are too small. Would have like to had added a QB and a couple more OL/DL but overall not bad for the time he had to recruit.
One thing for sure he isn't just putting new paint on our program and calling it new...he is tearing apart and making it new. That will be painful for many.

I am on board I think this staff did a great job!! We got some good players but I am not that worried about that! We have had a good recruiting coach we need a player development coach! Someone that is going to take some talent and make it great instead of sitting it on the bench for 2 years before he finally realizes his ability!

Our staff is top notch and if they all get along and coach together we will have some pretty amazing things happen. I believe in this staff and I believe in the players that are on this team. We will bounce back and we will make serious strides next year. And in 2010 we will have a top 3 recruiting class. The begin to Domination began 2 months ago get ready for the ride boys!:peace2:

Yes we did very well, considering a coaching change. IMO i think we are very fortunate to be able to keep as many recruits as we did and pick up some that we would have not gotten had there not been a change...give CLK and Co. time and he will bring the best players in the country to Knoxvegas year in and year out.

The question will remain until the next year and year after....can the guy coach?

I think Kiffin and co. did better than could be realistically expected in the short time they had to regroup. We really needed a 2 more big OLs and could have used a QB but they held their ground pretty good. We are deep at WR so missing out on MB doesn't hurt quite as bad as long as our other WRs are developed better under the new staff.
And we picked up one of the top D recruits of 2010 today.:)

we lost alot of good prospects this year. OL,DL....win in the trenches, no, this class doesn't really fill your needs. who are our OL starters and depth. Go Vols!

The Vols lost Ramon Foster and Anthony Parker (LG and RT respectively) to graduation. Ramone Johnson, who was the second team LT, and Darius Myers, who was the back-up RT were let go. This leaves 60% percent of the starting OL intact as well as 60% of the two-deep returning. RT and the guard positions are the easiest positions for a team to reload. Tennessee has always made their lineman "cross-train" during the season so there is plenty of game tested talent returning to stock the o-line.

DeMonte Bolden, Robert Ayers, and Walter Fisher all graduated from the DL. Bolden and Fisher are both DT's. Montori Hughes and Arthur Jeffrey will be expected to step up right away on the interior. DTs Victor Thomas and Chase Nelson will be a year more experienced and completely healthy. Tennessee will have a very nice rotation of DEs: Wes Brown, Chris Walker, Ben Martin, and Rae Sykes; plus Gerald Williams will probably be moved to DE as a speed rusher.

Yes, it would've been nice to have added more depth along both lines but it wasn't critical. Tennessee addressed most of their needs sans a USC-type QB and a homerun running back. It is a good class and one that will provide the ammunition for a stingy defense in 2010 at the latest.

While I agree there were some areas that we didn't get what we needed, we did have a better recruiting class than last year. To me that is an improvement and a success. In all actuality the class ranking will mean nothing unless we have player development which we have been sorely lacking the last few years. Hopefully CLK will be able to develop what we have and this class ranking will be just a blip on the map.

and at 177? he is small

Im tired of everyone else having the super-athletic jitterbug type of player that can take it to the house from 80 yards+. We have that now whith Marsalis Teague and Nukeese. If they are a little on the small side, then so be it...works with everyone else.

and I prefer WRs like Patrick Turner 6-5 220, Julio Jones 6-4 210, Riley Cooper 6-3 210, Michael Crabtree 6-6 210 and Juaquin Iglesias 6-1 201....seems to work for USC, Alabama, Florida,Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
