OK, nerdy post. But, I like the way my first NCAA '08 season ended. 35-0 over Michigan, with 5 TD's for Coker. Apparently, the Wolves weren't ready for SMASHMOUTH FOOTBALL. It's so cool when you get your RB and linemen all jazzed up. We were downhill the whole game.

On a down note, Mayo tore his MCL in the SECCG against Bama.

I am envious... where do you find the time?

Kids (and breastfeeding wife) go to bed early + Nothing on TV = XBox time

I still suck at passing, but I've been playing around on Practice Mode with moving receivers at the line and calling hot routes. . . .looks promising.

I'm only two games into my season with Florida coming up. I might do that tonight.

For REAL. After spending all my downtime playing FIFA 07, and coming back to good ol' REAL Football, the games last SOOOO freakin' long. FIFA match = 15-20 mins., NCAA game = about an HOUR.

That hour is too precious to waste on just ONE game. I think I'll continue to play FIFA instead... I wonder if they put out FIFA 08 on the xbox...

I still can't get used to playing it on the 360... I'm on All-American and I got beat by Southern Miss after I stomped Cal.

The passing is a lot harder on this one, imo. THere's a greater chance of INTs...I probably throw 4-5 a game. However, Coker is a BEAST and can rarely be beaten to the the corner. Many of my sweeps/tosses with him go for td's.

Im just curious, what difficulty are you guys playing on??? 35-0 vs Michigan and a NC in the first season and Jwells saying Coker doesnt get beaten to the corner tells me you arent playing Heisman!!!

Only curious, I am playing Heisman with some good sliders, getting very realistic games on 8 minute quarters, and Im 6-3. Havent come close to seeing a shutout and the corner is really hard to get.

I am finding passing really easy. I guess just different playing styles.

Rushing is getting better too, i always try and follow a lineman up the hole.

what system are you playing on? Is it ps2? I can't remember.

PS2. Vols are 4-0 now. UF stuck around in the first half and then Coker started running around the line and down the field. The UF DB's couldn't even hang with him. Of course, Arkansas State was never in it.

OFT

I think i'm getting old or something...it's like I don't have patience for hour long games anymore. On the other hand I love Campus Legend. When I had Ncaa on ps2 i ignored it while winning 15 NC with Tennessee and North Carolina. And I can't stop hiiting the start button while tackliing... I almost want to start a pettiton to have Microsoft sell a controller with the d-pad and the stick like ps2.

How is it on the PS2 this year?

I threw 7 ints against tenn and still won by 3 tds. The next game against CSU i had 80 yards passing and 500 yards rushing with 8 tds of 50+ yards. 5 of those were with a true freshman with my second string. he had 300 yards rushing with an average of 30 yards per rush. my passing game is nonexistant.

LOL. Yeah, in the NC game, I think I threw the ball maybe 8-10 times, mostly short routes or play action. I still can't get the screen to work -- the HB almost always cuts backwards just prior to receiving the pass and loses yards. With the run, you have to stick to it, find ways to get yards early (run away from the better linemen/backers) and make some nice TD's to boost the motivation of your back and the linemen. Once you get everybody hyped up, you can push around the D with even simple middle-line runs/dives, picking up 4-10 yards per carry. It's fun being able to smash it in the mouth.

I've never been able to make decent yards throwing to the halfback out of the backfield in NCAA football (one of my staples for madden). It always seems like I get one or two yards. And lots of time the HB looks WIDE open.
