Do you like the Star Spangled Banner as the national anthem? Some people have suggested changing it to God Bless America, or America the Beautiful. I would be upset if this happened.

I know this isn't a hot topic or anything, but I wanted to see other opinions. If you say no, list the song that you prefer.

no offense but what kind of que is this

This is just a random interest poll. I have heard people say they think the national anthem should be one of the two I mentioned in the first post. I wanted to see what other people thought.

What I don't like is the people they get to sing it tend to "personalize" it and butcher it. They want to use their own creativity while singing the song and more often than not it sounds awful. Then there are the ones that just shouldn't be singing it. Roseanne, Carl Lewis, etc. GIve me the Jimmy Hendrix version over most opf the people that get up there.

yah, but 3/4 of americans are idiots. changing the national anthem would be stupid. The Star Spangled Banner signifies what it is to be Americans. We defied the odds, and survived and are the best nation in the world. Just listening to the lyrics of a battle we shouldnt have won. Rev War we won our independence, War of 1812 we proved it. (when the SSB was written)

Personally I like "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America" better. They are both a heck of a lot easier to sing.

How dare you you denigrate the Carl Lewis version of our national anthem? That was pure musical genius . . . wuh-oh!?!
