Headed to the MCB, snatched up some tickets last night. I have been to Nashville often and know my way around pretty well but have only been on a gameday once (Titans/Colts year Manning and McNair were neck and neck MVP). Anyways could someone who frequents Titan games give me some info about parking, eating, drinking, etc.

Most likely would park across the river and walk the bridge over to the stadium after eating and drinking some downtown. Will I be able to park downtown in a garage and get in a restaurant at say 12 or 1 pm? Also are there any routes to avoid or that change on gameday? Was thinking of taking Interstate to Church to Commerce and parking somewhere in there. Think that will work?

Any other suggestions about general game day info. is appreciated!

That sounds pretty much like what I have done in the past, but I usually try to stay somewhere downtown the night before and walk to the game. This takes care of parking (even though you are most likely going to pay for it anyway). I have never really enjoyed trying to make a day trip out of it, but I have always had at least a 2-hour drive to deal with on the way there and back.

When I have come in the day of the game, I usually get off at Broadway and come in that way to park downtown.

I usually park in front of the Bicentennial Mall for Titans games. (off James Robertson Pkwy) It's a little farther, but it's free. Still, it pales in comparison to some of the walks I've made from parking lots to Neyland.

Well I was going to try to get a room downtown but saw the rates and decided otherwise. Heading to Vegas mid-Jan and I think the $300 for a nights stay would serve me better there. Gonna leave Memphis about 9am Thurs and should be back by 2am Fri latest. That's manageable I think. Just have to switch to coffee about half-time!

Thanks for the map link. Looks like plenty of parking. Wonder if the Bridgestone Garage will be open even if there is no hockey game. I went to a fight one time in Nashville and a hockey match broke out!

There's plenty of places to park downtown - free and pay. Not knowing the area its probably best to stick with pay (not saying any of the area is rough at all).

On the day of the game, Lower Broad / 2nd Avenue will be THE place. Most places will open around 10 am so you'll be fine. Good chance it will be packed with both UT and UNC fans doing the exact same thing. Getting to the stadium isnt hard either as there are 3 bridges to walk over. Any are fine.

Another option to get there is to take the 2nd Ave exit off of I 40 and run it all the way up to Broad. You'll pass by alot of parking lots that way.

Interstate will probally be packed, I'm from the Mount Juliet area which is about 15-20 minutes east of Nashville and on Sundays traffic can be horrible due to the weekend shoppers and now Orange Nation all traveling east. Many may not know this since but you can get off at almost any exit starting at 227 (its the highway 109/gallatin exit) and including the mount juliet, hermitage, donelson, and even percy priest exits and hit lebanon road (i believe some still call it old nashville highway) and that will take you a back way into downtown. sometimes its quicker, sometimes its not, although it wont take you any longer than the interstate. If your really crunched for parking, the following exits i mentioned all have a train station that runs straight to downtown, only problem is that it shuts off at like 7pm so you would have to catch a cab back to your car.

Park for free......If you get downtown early enough you can get a spot on Gay Street which is at the corner of 1st ave and Gay. It is parallel to the river and behind the Hooter's on 2nd. Very convenient to the bridge to walk across river. For Titans games around 8-9am for noon kick offs. For Music City Bowl since it is a late kick off, your noon time would be great for this.

On top of Game traffic will be the normal weekday rush hour traffic (3ish to 6ish) so if you are planning on just showing up right before kickoff you should take that into consideration.

I usaually park in the Church / 2nd Ave area at a pay lot. Easy walking distance to the 2nd Ave restaurants and bars. Not a bad walk to the stadium either.

Just get there early and you can find parking on about any corner for around 7 to 10 bucks. Compared to the $25 parking in Knoxville, it's a good deal. It's a Thursday game so there shouldn't be that big of a deal with traffic as long as you beat rush hour. Nashville is an awesome gameday town so get there early and enjoy!

Thanks for for all the suggestions guys. Don't think I'll have much of a problem considering my arrival time goal.

I'm getting ready to buy Music City Bowl tickets. Does anyone know which side is the Tennessee side?
