I noticed at the orange and white game there arent any names on our jerseys anymore. It doesnt matter to me either way but thats something UT has had for several years. I have a feeling they wont be coming back,seeing how USC's jerseys have no name on the back either. Your thoughts? Is it permanent for this year?

I like the names on the jersey. If a guy plays harder because his name is not on a jersey than he probably isn't playing hard in the first place.

Seroiusly? I dont remember that. I think Kiff's doing the southern cal thing and taking them off. It may explain why he stressed about numbers being so important I.E. Brandon Warrens #1.

I don't remember names ever being on jerseys at O&W games, but then again, I could have been drunk at the time.

I don't think it matters during the game, but it matters during recruiting. Players want people watching on TV to see their name. Its a big recruiting tool. I think the names should stay.:sad:

USC is really hurting and I heard they may bring back the names too

I'm pretty sure the names will remain. I really don't see the benefit of removing them. There are plenty of other ways to emulate USC than that.

They'll add the names when they know who is going to wear the freaking jersey. Obviously five new numbers are available.

It's just a practice game and they won't be on till the fall. They also don't have the stripe or the power T on the helmet during spring practice. They do put them on for the O and W game.

My guess is that UT will recycle little-used jerseys from one year to the next; removing the nameplates from the jersey would make more sense since the new one would be added when the roster is finalized in August.
