I know we are all disappointed in the Vols this season.

Are you following some other team, trying to find some joy in college football this year? If so, who and why?

I'm following Texas Tech. I have a good friend I met through work, who turned me on to the Red Raiders. She's an alum. Tonight's cliffhanger victory over No. 1 Texas was awesome.

I'm curious to see which teams some of you might have adopted.

Georgia Tech. They became my second-favorite after hiring Paul Johnson, narrowly slipping by "Whoever plays Ohio State".

I am routing for a Nov. like we had last year. I hope everyone in contention for the BCS suffers some kind of strange loss leaving a bunch of unanswered questions about who should play in the title game. Maybe after 10 straight years of that we can get some serious talk about a playoff system.

Surrogate team????

Win, lose, or draw. I'm a Vol....nothing else!

Of course, me too, would never pull for anyone against the Vols. My question was intended to elicit whether there is some other team from which you derive some joy, assuming they are not playing the Vols, and if so, to find out why.

It WAS Colorado. But they suck too.

I don't have a surrogate, really. I guess Georgia Tech is the closest thing to that.

I don't really have a surrogate team. I still enjoy watching college football and usually end up pulling for one team in a match up based on my gut feeling.

due to school ties, I am excited about Old Dominion football. But that is an altogether different Division. I don't need a surrogate team for this year with the Redskins playing so well.

Born a Vol, undergrad from UT, will die a Vol. I'm getting my MBA from Auburn, so if it has no impact on my Vols..... then War Eagle!

Basically my football season has been tough, especially with the Colts play thus far.

I've been watching Appalachian State for a few years now. I started watching them around the time they won their second of three straight FCS Championships. I was finally able to watch one of their games on ESPN last night, and it was definately refreshing to see an offense that can actually move the ball effectively.
