Name That Game

This was my favorite co-op game as a kid. Man if you had a friend and another controller it was a blast.

I used to play Fighting Force 2 on my ps1. I remember it actually being pretty difficult.

All games were more difficult back in the day. That's my biggest issue with today's games. The new Tomb Raiders for example, very pretty games, but a walk in the park compared to what Tomb Raider used to be.

I know it. I get my snes or ps1 out every now and then and I'm amazed at how hard the games are. I figured maybe it was just because I was a kid, but they are still hard to this day.

Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne lol

But you're right. Games are made for panty waists now.

Kessen for PS2 was another good game during this time period.

Regarding beat'um ups like Double Dragon, Final Fight, etc - I never knew how much the movie "The Warriors" influenced that genre... heck, it basically created the genre.

Yup. The Souls games are the exception to the rule, but to be fair they are quite an exception. Those are among the hardest games out there.

Definitely. Have your tried Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, Shovel Knight, or Rougue Legacy? Those are all old school SNES-ish games that are hard as hell.

Super Meat Boy, along with Fez and Braid, were featured in the documentary "Indie Game: The Movie."

All 3 are rock solid xbla games. Fez and Braid are puzzlers, but SMB is a fantastic SNES-type arcade level platformer

Braid is more like a work of art than a video game IMHO. It's just beautiful.

Braid is unlike any game I've ever played. The story, the gameplay, the visuals, the music, the hidden stars, the puzzles, just everything. It's truly a masterpiece.
