No surprise here. It was time for him to go. He was a cancer and was never gonna be a contributor. There is a much better use of his scholarship.

Walk-ons aren't promised scholarships, but yes, that includes all incoming freshmen, Wiggins transfer, and Daniel and Jumper on scholarship. We weren't trimming fat. McDaniel just couldn't make it work. Unfortunate for him; the opportunity was there at DE moving forward.

He almost did. Kicked it around, decided to stay. Now, he's leaving.

I won't hold it against him, maybe he's just not fitting in. Either way, if he's not all in, he probably wouldn't fulfill whatever potential he has. I say best of luck to him finding the right place and hopefully we upgrade with the extra spot.

That FB would only be a 40 if he is out of position. I recruit ATH on NCAA to put in the FB position. My 2017 Vols have a FB that is rated at 72. My DTs are in the 90s and my DEs are in the upper 80s.

You're right-- we're good on the 85. I was doublecounting the EEs who're already on the roster.

I understand that the purpose of a game is to win said game. But I can't seem to grasp the fact that so many fans and the media bash Jones for making a comment that he wants and strives to make the players well rounded and decent men on the field and in life. I want to win just as bad as anybody, but not at the expense of our players being pos. JMHO

He was a late addition to last years class. He made some noise at DE in fall camp before he got injured and he red shirted last year. Got sent home from bowl practice due to grades I believe and returned this semester. Didn't hear a ton about him in the spring, which might be why he's moving on.

It was a joke. Jesus. Lighten the **** up.

It's May. Why so uptight? If Freak required all members to keep a piece of charcoal between their butt cheeks, he could run the largest diamond manufacturer in the Western hemisphere.

Everyone wants to police complaining so hard, it makes this site about as enjoyable as the DMV sometimes.

Agreed. Tag along joke ab champions of life not necessarily needed, but no big deal. It seems as if Mr. Duvol may be projecting just a little bit....As for the "dumb" corona comment, my apologies to everyone...I knew nothing of the calamity I would set forth in his life at the time of its conception. We can't all have the intellectual prowess of a DuVol. That being so, I will try my darndest to be more sensitive to his needs and refrain from any future quipping while a member of this forum. It seems to be a seedbed for the sophomoric humor and champions of life remarks that would only furthur annoy him...and we surely wouldn't want that. Now if you will excuse me while I return to my book and corona. Have a wonderful day :)
