1. Spurrier is excited. He really thinks he has a good team this year. Could be interesting.

2. Nick Saban. Is anyone more boring to listen to? In addition, he will fit right in at Alabama. He thinks a lot more highly of himself than anyone else does.

Have yet to listen to Urban Myer.

Anyone else been listening? Thoughts?

Spurrier's championship talk caught my attention as well. I would bet that he is getting a little more comfortable with Blake Mitchell. I would not be surprised if he shows dramatic improvement this year.

Nick Saban is probably being very careful at what he is saying, in the fear he may reveal what some of his boosters are up to.

As far as Oscar Meyer, we'll just see how great his offense is now that he has a questionable defense to lean back on.

If SOS is gushing, the rest of the SEC may be in trouble. One thing about him, Spurrier will say what he thinks and never poor mouths ala' Holtz. If he's saying it, it's because he believes it. As far as Saban, nothing short a Tennessee NC would make me happier than seeing that smug liar fall flat on his face.

If SC can get anything out of Mitchell then they will be tough. I expect them to be much, much better defensively than in previous years since they are returning the most experienced D in the conference.

I'm still not sold on the Saban taking Bama to great heights in a hurry theory that alot of people are buying into. Saban will make them better but they are still a long way away from being contenders IMO, heck, they have to get better just getting Shula off the sidelines.

1. I am glad we don't play South Carolina this season.

2. Sly Croom is about to be "Outta Here!"

3. Phil "Always" Fulmer needs to lose weight and is starting to look unhealthy.

4. I think I saw Urban Meyer tear up at one point.

5. Nick Saban is the most handsome coach in the SEC.

Broken record warning: the SEC is good, and deep.

With Kentucky's and South Carolina's improvement, there now are really only 3 teams that are pushovers: the Mississippi teams and Vandy. Any other team could beat the others, and it wouldn't be a huge shock.

They were talking on the radio this morning and someone mentioned a Vandy player when asked about if they were shooting for a bowl game saying basically "yeah, we want to make it to a BCS Bowl game this year!"

edit...

ok, I found the quote!!!

Star wide receiver Earl Bennett certainly feels that way. In fact, he said just going to a bowl won't be enough.
"We are thinking BCS bowl," Bennett said. "That's what we've been talking about. We are working hard to do that. We believe we can do that." ...

I admire their attitude. Hell, look what Rutgers did last year! :devilsmoke:

The highlight of the week was when several reporters asked Saban in many different ways how he will be able to talk about integrity in the home of a recruit after what he did to Miami.

He had no answer. It was awesome.
